In a world of Tattoo Shirts, Pumpkin Patches, UN Day, and Dress Up Parties

What has been happening in the Prasad household. We have been busy, busy.Noah's birthday cake turned out okay. It wasn't what I had imagined, but it was good enough for a 4 year old. He enjoyed it none-the-less. Lots of icing did help! Thanks for the advice!Noah is very particular on what he wears. He is into "Tattoo shirts". Well, at least, that's what he calls them. It's basically any shirt that is not plain. I'm sure this is from years of me dressing him the way I wanted. I never really did put him in prints. So whether it has a print on it or a printed pattern, it is a "Tattoo shirt". Don't know where he coined the phrase from, but it's his phrase.Jonah had a class field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. We had a lot of fun learning about where our food comes from and feeding goats and picking a prize pumpkin to come home with! The Montessori school does not celebrate or teach Halloween or Christmas, so it was a nice break for the kids to learn abou...

Odds and Ends

The fires are still growing in Southern California. My folks are fine, but there are many around them and in the congregation that have been evacuated. My folks say they can see the flames on the hills surrounding them and the air quality is very poor. Please keep them in your prayers. Good sweet friend Jamie Wilson is trapped at Pepperdine. I'm not sure of the details of why she was unable to get out and go home, but she is in need of your prayers. Our Miss Maggie, is safe home for the time being.============================================================Noah is 3 now. We had a fun-filled birthday for him. Last Saturday, we took him on his first train ride. So, it wasn't a real train, but close enough. We took BART to San Francisco and walked down Pier 39. He got to see the sea lions and the ocean and even came home with a souvenior Trolley! What a fun day!=============================================================Today is United Nations day.
Once a Blonde No More

Tuesday night I got my annual haircut. Yes, that's right, annual. It's bad. I truly don't like paying a lot of money for getting my haircut, and I can ~always~ think of something else to do with my time. It just hit me with this last haircut. I'm not a blonde. I've always been blonde, born/raised... Now I've come to the road in my life where something else has changed. Seriously, there's a name for blue/green/brown/yellow/gray eyes, it's called Hazel. Is there really anything to describe dirty blonde/light brown/red hair? (and a little gray...shhhh...don't repeat that) I think I'll have to invent one. If you could invent a name for hair color that isn't one true color, what would it be?Can you have hazel hair?

Exciting Weekend...

Okay, nothing much to post, but thought it was time to put something else on my blog.Sean and I got a call last minute on Friday evening inviting us to the LPGA Tournament at the Blackhawk Golf Course. This is a beautiful golf course and only 20 miles down the road!It turned out to be a beautiful Saturday and the Tournament was a lot of fun! I am not a player. (yet..) Sean is working on it! Apparently there were a lot of Rookies this year, but wow they really know how to swing a club! ~whoosh~I've really taken a liking to Lorena Ochoa. She is amazing to watch! (besides, I like her outfits too!) Okay, so that's the girly side of me talking...hehe.We are planning on joining our friends and go to the Pebble Beach Golf Course to the AT&T PGA Tournament. Sean talks about this golf course a lot and how pretty it is. He's played there before with Tiger Woods brother. Anyhow, it really sounds exciting and I hope we get the chance to go! (seeing how it's only down the road from u...

No Carbs Challenge

Trying to cut out carbs. Sean is on a no carbs diet and I want to be supportive and do it with him. I'm running out of things to prepare. He's done this diet before about a year and half ago, and I had the same problems then as I do now with preparing meals. (breads, corn, potatoes, pasta, and rice are out) These items become the staple for meals. It's not yummie, if you have a roast beef with veggies and no potatoes. (at least I think so) And Jambalaya is always perfect with rice! How can you just cut out the rice on a dish like that? The meals are starting to repeat themselves after 4 days. hehe...I'm at a loss.Any suggestions or recipes?Side Note: I know nothing about fish or seafood. Sean likes some of it, but the rest of the family doesn't like it.

Welp, no more football for a while

Kyle broke his thumb playing football at school during recess time yesterday.I don't know what his Coach has been telling him, but I do know that they are not supposed to play football anywhere else. (of course non-supervised) Kyle will be in a cast at least for two weeks, who knows how much longer. On a seperate note, here are a few photos of last weekend. We went to a park in a nearby town to hear a couple of bands play some 60's and 70's music. They seemed to like the beach boys, because they played a lot of beach boy music. We had a fun time!

Myspace Graphics at 123glitter.comYes, my big boy is playing football this year. He loves every minute of it! He plays Corner back position and has been Captain of his team! He's learning more and more about the game and his Coach really wants to put him into some other positions, because he thinks he will be a verstile player. I'm just happy he really likes football. Kyle is excited to be wearing his Papa's old number! (#42) I asked Kyle what he enjoys more, Soccer, Baseball, Karate, Wrestling, or Football. He said it was a toss up of Wrestling and Football. Guess he can do both! I think a lot of football players wrestle too. Football seems to be the main sport in the family. (besides a little college basketball! but my children will never be tall enough for that kind of sport!)Haha...the picture is Kyle's "game face"Okay, so one thing I really don't understand or like. All, yes I said, "ALL" of his games are on Sunday. No we don't miss servi...
