Lost Maples

Last week we stayed with Craig's parents. Craig got to hunt a few times and I got to spend time with my mother-in-law. Tuesday we drove to Lost Maples State Park. The fall colors were beautiful this year. Craig & I had been once before, but it was Henry & Beverly's first time. When we first got there it was kinda cold & windy. Beverly & I didn't have jackets, so we went inside the gift shop to find something. We ended up getting the "cheapest" (not really cheap) thing. They were gray hoodies with green & yellow writing that said "Happy Camper" with a smiley face wearing a bucket hat. It was really funny. The hike was great, but it really wore Jacob out. On the way home we went through Medina and got apple ice cream; it was good, but we really couldn't taste the apple. We had a really good week with them, even though, we both ended up getting a cold. Enjoy the pictures.

Halloween Fun

Thursday I took Jacob to the Library for story time. All the kids got to wear their Halloween costumes. Jacob was a very colorful lion. He was soooo cute! That afternoon we took him to get pictures. All of the pictures turned out great. We had a hard time choosing. Friday night we went to her house for a party and trick or treating. It was so much fun! All of the kids we're so cute in their costumes! Today we went to visit my parents, sister & nephew. I put Jacob in his costume, so they could see him.....OK, so I could see it again too. ;) Hope everyone had a great Halloween! :)

Update

Aunt Judy is currently staying with her son & his family. He lives in the Houston city limits and actually has power. She has some men from the church helping her clean out her house. Her flood insurance is covering a storage unit, so she can store some of her stuff that wasn't damage. Right now they don't know if she will be able to live in her house or if it will be condemned. Thank you so much for your prayers and please keep her in your thoughts during this trial.

Weekend in Houston

Friday, August 29 we stayed with Craig's Aunt Judy, who lives in Seabrook. She took us out to eat at the Kemah Boardwalk. We got to walk around the Boardwalk and see all the rides. We didn't ride any; maybe we'll go back when Jacob is older. Jacob really enjoyed all the lights! Saturday morning we headed to the other side of Houston to see the Ballous. Marla was there for the weekend, which was our main reason for the trip. It was so great to see her and her wonderful parents. Troxel & Kelia were kind enough to let us stay with them Saturday night and go to services with them Sunday morning. Saturday afternoon Marla & I got pedicures it was really fun getting to spend time with her. Troxel made South African meatloaf Saturday night and it was really tasty! Marla and her Mom made a Baked Alaska for dessert...Yum! Sunday we went to services with them at Alief. They had a class for babies, so I went to class with Jacob. He did GREAT and it took so much stress off of me because ...
