a new beginning

the christmas decorations came down today.not only because it is now january, but also because i have enough christmas spirit left to not become overwhelmingly sad.it always brings me down to look where the christmas tree used to be,to be able to grab the stair rail without jabbing myself on garland,to no longer trip over ornament traps left by my cats...but this year, we are in a new house, and so i used this as a great reason to be positive about the decor coming down...ORGANIZATION AND STORAGE TIME!!!i will have to take and post a pictureof the beautiful corner of our garage, now dedicated to christmas!

so chris and i did presents with our neice and nephew last night.we wont be in town for christmas, and they wont be here christmas eve, when chris's family does their thing.so we did it last night.the kids LOVED the gifts, and i LOVED helping them put them together.chris sat and built a millenium falcon transformer, while i helped my neice set up her rachel ray-like tv chef barbie.(she LOVES cooking shows, and she loves barbie, so it was perfect.)THEN i got to help my nephew build an indiana jones lego car!i was really sad when it was their bedtime, cuz i had to help put the toys away (and i was SOOO close to finishing the car!)(all the while their mom and her friend were playing with the walkie talkies- one of them actually got in a car and drove off to test the distance they are usable!)it was a great night.

so i ordered most of chris's gifts this year from the online. why did i do that? dumb.now this means that i am1) waiting and hoping they arrive in timeand2) REALLY hoping snooping-head isn't here when they arrive.im not sure if the outsides will be labeled with give-away-what-the-present-is-information.argh...

its time forTHE WRAPPING OF PRESENTS!!!i have an obsession with putting bows on presents.wierd, since i am not very girly, and normally i would scorn ribbons and bows, but during christmas,i am covered with them.do you super beautify your gifts,or do you just cover them as quickly as you can?

i totally know that things are rough this year.i know most of us have less money.BUT.if you are out shopping for christmas, and you decide to go out to eat while shopping for christmas,do not think that tipping your server less is a good way to make up for the fact that you have no money.its CHRISTMAS people!this is totally LAME. and i see it happenevery holiday season.this year, its really bad.the mall is slammed, we have plenty of people coming to eat,and then most of them leave almost nothing for the servers.ITS CHRISTMAS FOR THEM TOO!!!help your christmas karma this year, treat those servicing you with a little extra respect and cheer.trust me, they will appreciate you.
