I was up early - couldn't sleep!Kat just left with Mr. B to go skiing with lots of others - her first time downhill skiing. 2 nieces just left to go to Dulles; one is headed to Italy and the other as the delivery to the airport person; she is headed back here for the night. He should arrive next week when she leaves. I still miss all of them. But it was so lovely seeing them last night with their little ones and Paola. I wish mine had been here to hug on them too.Now I'll read your updates.Oh, PA Farm Show next week too.

There are so many beautiful things in the world and so much for which to be grateful.Love first

There are so many beautiful things in the world and so much for which to be grateful.Love first - from our God and His Son - so often I'm overwhelmed by God's willingness to forgive my sins.Next today is snow - snow is so beautiful. You drive carefully tonight!!! Then my family(ies) - my own "nuclear" group of Mr. B (should have let him have his own blog), and my 3 girls. Then my spiritual family whom I often wish they were not so spread out across the globe, but who always give me warm fuzzies in my heart when I think on them. Now check out FreeRice.com for fun ways to practice homeschooling yourself and those you love and to donate food (rice) to hungry people around the world.Have a filled day.

quick here

The girls are off the computer so I'm on. First time since maybe Friday? Hard to remember, but there sure were a lot of emails I needed to read for me and farm-wise.Daughter #1's bride price went up today. She took the flat tire off my car for me. All by herself, I didn't do anything! But drive the flat (in her car) to the tire place. She has more muscles than me I think! I loved watching this - that family always leaves me thinking, "how do they think of these things????" My brain isn't that strong either! The tree in our living room is lovely. I do like trees in my living room.Got to go now. Soon all three will be here. Nice. But I agree with that young man - I want all the ones I love in one beautiful place called home someday. I'm sending love in many directions tonight. :) Bride price above is in cows - quanity to be negotiated - because I miss having cows. But since Mr. Berry doesn't we might have to come up with some other kind of currency to use. :)

Lobsters and other wet things

WANDERING LOBSTERS UNH researchers have been tracking the movements of lobsters--who can walk 10 miles in a couple of days--off the coast of New Hampshire. The data will be used to help determine whether New Hampshire's tasty crustaceans should be managed in isolation or as part of a larger unit. "If our lobsters are leaving for Massachusetts or elsewhere," notes zoologist Win Watson, "then we need to work together to better manage the population."I don't remember how to link to stories, but the above was in my UNH email newsletter. Another wet thing: the hot water is leaking in our dirt cellar. I put a bucket under it. I don't think Mr. Berry knows this. The dishwasher was running and I had to put something on the cellar shelves and I heard the drip. This leaking pipe thing is a bit of a problem..... Another wet thing: the weather. I'm so thankful we (me and C) are safe at home even with leaky pipes.I'm cleaning cupboards (but not using water yet!)

Winter cold and cough advice via my smart sister; now I just need a cough or cold, but I'm willing for the rest of you to try it and I can take your word for success.

This is worth a try -- can't hurt and just may work!VICKS VAPO RUB - INTERESTING During a lecture on Essential Oils, they told us how the foot soles can absorb oils. Their example: Put garlic on your feet and within 20 minutes you can 'taste' it. Some of us have used Vicks Vapo rub for years for everything from chapped lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But I've never heard of this. And don't laugh, it works 100% of the time, although the scientists who discovered it aren't sure why. To stop night time coughing in a child (or adult as we found out personally), put Vicks Vapo rub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime, then cover with socks. Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comfo rtin g and they will sleep soundly. Just ha...

Miscellaneous thoughts - very random, not particularly intelligent

Darryl's hand. My bets are on the cards.Mr. Berry's dermatology appt. - bump on head looked at it; had to make another appt. for removal (he didn't like that - another trip!) I'm glad I don't have those. Sorry, girls that you didn't get my genes for that one!Mr. Berry's face changing spot - re-frozen -ooooohhhhhh! and brrrrrrr! Now blistered.Stopped at sam's club - they've redone the outside and we are guessing they are trying to look "upscale" in a big wally world type way. They didn't have those calamari tomatoes I love, so I settled for little grape ones. Ate two little quiches (they always do those handouts at dinner time, but we didn't buy them). Did buy a box of pizzas as a "drop-off" meal for some folks who've been under the weather. I think they are doing better, health-wise.I finally got Mr. Berry to try dinner at panera bread!!!! Almost as good as April's breakfast. We had to eat and be done by 8:15 pm since we have to fast for blood testing tomorr...

For me:don't spend too much time on the computer.....:)but I do like going through blog by blog and fb page by fb page to catch up.All the highlighted names are gone, but there are still little dots.Oh well.Off to get dressed, WW meeting today, Mr. Berry has a second removal of a face spot (too much sun in early days), and I'm going to collect more stuff to send to WV with my "doing a good thing" young neighbor - I'm reading Scaling Down - Living Large in a Small Space. Our space is not getting smaller, but there is getting to be more space in it! I can see the attic floor.Have a wonderful day, week, month, until I post again.two more things I wanted to post:Found Money Game update for 2008: $12.27not quite an accurate count because all money found when with her goes into her "petty cash," not our jar. Proverbs 13:11 :Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.Second Thing (this is a good one!)You ...

spending way too much time on computer

Ok - my neck goes out of whack when I do.I don't get things done!!!! (that need doing - like cleaning out the attic)But I like reading all these posts...But I guess I should pay attention to what this video said, "Stop it!" and go get ready for frozen berry and jam sales.I'm not caught reading all those posts yet though. But soon she and she will be home for turkey (which, by the way, is coming from Gozzi's in Guilford). And I'm thankful she is doing ok and resting and should be able to drive today. And I'm very glad she is coming home for xmas and new year time.Maybe I'll arrange for some snow then. What do you think? About 2 weeks worth? Let's do it!
