How about tomorrow?

So today is my birthday. It wasn't so great. I woke up with a pounding headache that lasted all day, had a smoothie explosion (was hit in the head with a frozen strawberry), a snotty baby and an irritable 3 year old who wouldn't take a nap and had a couple of meltdowns. Plus, Obama will now be our President. Ick...can I have a birthday do over?? If you are cute or have cute kids, feel free to make a video of you/them singing "Happy Birthday" and post it like she did (see below). That would make me smile.

Phooey on early voting.

I went 3 times to try to early vote, thinking that it would be easier and quicker. Twice I walked in the door, saw the line and left again. The third time I just circled the lot and drove back out. With 2 little ones in tow, I just didn't want to wait that long. So I took my chances and waited until today. This morning I packed a coloring book, crayons, 200+ page book of Disney stories, portable CD player with headphones, snacks, extra diapers and wipes...let's just say, you name it, I packed it. I was prepared physically and emotionally to wait in a long line. But I didn't have to wait at all!! The whole process was so smooth and easy, I was in and out in 5 minutes! We even made it in time for story time at the library. The problem there was that the parking was so bad because there was another polling place right beside the library. Their line was out the door! I'm thankful that I was at a different precinct. Now if you will excuse me, I must continue my prayer vigil...

The prayer of a 3 year old southern princess:"Dear Fodder in Haven, thank you this day, thank you for my fam-a-ly, thank you for my mom and my dad and Sadie-bug and Shelby. Thank you for AAALLL the things. Thank you for Cinderella and Belle and Jasmine and Sleeping Booty and Ariel and Anastasia and Drizella. Thank you for Jesus *diving* on the cross. Thank you for Jesus. Thank you for the bible. Amen."There's not much going on around here. This makes the third business week that Jeremy has been out of town. Plus, he has been away for the past two Saturdays for previously planned events. Last week was a gospel meeting that started at 7:30 every night. Sewell Hall was the speaker and it was a good meeting but I was worn out. The girls didn't get into bed until almost 10 each night. I am also making the invitations to my sister's baby shower next month (and doing the pretty much ALL of the planning despite the fact that my other sisters have plenty of time to go...

Things that annoy me...

1. Movies that are based on novels but don't follow the story, even on insignificant details. I guess that's why they say it's "based" on the novel but it still leaves me saying "that didn't happen in the book!"2. Barack Obama3. Chinese Anime4. The uniforms for women's volleyball, both beach and non beach. I mean, come on, would putting on some clothes really impede your game? 5. Local news reports on TVThings that do not annoy me:1. Sadie Margaret2. Shelby Elaine3. Homemade smoothies4. A good book (you know, as opposed to a bad one)5. Falling gas prices. I hope they continue to go down for our trip to Florida in a couple of weeks! Speaking of books, does anyone have any recommendations for a couple that I could take to the beach with me? No pictures this time...I know, I'm such a slacker. I am trying to figure out how to download a video and post it but I think it's going to be too big. I'll keep working on it; Shelby is reading &qu...

To go or not to go??

My 10 year high school reunion is coming up. I can't decide if I want to go. I keep going back and forth and just wish I could make a decision already! Did any of you go to your reunion? We came across this in the engagement section of the Lebanon Democrat a few weeks ago. We got a kick out of it, especially the use of their nicknames. *Update*The plot thickens between Pauly Bear and Snoogums

Taking their fame to a new level...

We were going through the baby name book tonight and came across a section of what celebrities have named their children. This is another reason I am so glad that I am not a child of these people:Pilot Inspektor - son of Jason LeeFifi Trixibelle - daughter of Paula YatesZelda - daughter of Robin WilliamsBut if you think that's bad, just be glad that you are not a child of Frank and Gail Zappa. These poor kids, I can't believe they didn't change their names when they became adults! Moon Unit - DaughterDweezil - SonAhmet Emuukha Rodan - SonDiva Thin Muffin Piggen - Daughter This got me thinking about the naming process. Imagine the stream of thought and discussion between the parents. Parent A: "What do you want to name our baby?"Parent B: "I don't know, let's brainstorm"Parent A: "I've got it, what about John or Frank Jr?!"Parent B: "How about Dweezil?"Parent A: "Hmmm...Dweezil...creative, unique, and the best part i...
