5 Years Time

"Five years time-I might not know youFive years time-We might not speakIn five years time-We might not get along In five years time-You might just prove me wrong"----------------------Noah and the WhaleI think some time in Jr. High or High School music became a sort of an escape for me and while singing along still lifts my spirits, I think as I get older I have begun to analyze music and lyrics more and more. Whether its a Rock song or a hymn, I often find music I like to be very emotionally stirring. Everytime I hear the song quoted above I can't help but think about my life and the lives of others I know or knew. Isn't it interesting how much changes in 5 years time. Think about it...what has changed?

Family

The last 10 days have been filled with fun, food and family. We went to Birmingham and Houston. Saw my niece, nephew, Mom, Brother and tons of cousins, aunts and everyone in between. It was freezing when we were in Birmingham and 80 degrees in Houston. We gave my nephew a Busy Bible which I would recommend to anyone with little kids as a cool book to let them play with in church that is educational and quiet because it is made of fabric. I'm excited about our new video camera and we're continuing to bank money and save for a new computer sometime soon as ours is 7 years old and needs to be replaced soon. Now we are heading to a cabin in North Georgia that some friends of Jana's own and are letting us stay in for the week. It will be nice to have some quiet time.Happy New Year!

Gene Chizik

This weekend I was pretty hot about this hire, and I'm still unhappy. He was a great defensive coordinator at Auburn and Texas. he appears to have been a pretty bad head coach at Iowa State (5-19). He better get an awesome offensive coordinator.I'm trying to come around on this one, but I'm having a hard time.

So Much Fun

For those of you that are married, do you ever have one of those days or weeks with your spouse where you feel and act like you have gone back in time? I think Jana and I have had one of those weeks. Monday we went walking at the collusium, and there were so many people acting really odd that we started laughing and pretty much couldn't stop. I felt like we were 19 and back in college. There have been many other things this week too where we have just gone back to an earlier time, a younger love I suppose. Jana is such a wonderful wife. We've been married 4.5 years and it gets better all the time!

Update on Considerations

1) Butch Davis (NC)2) Will Muschamp (Texas)3) Paul Johnson (GA Tech)4) Bobby Patrino (Arkansas)5) Brady Hoke (Ball State)6) Mike Leach (TX Tech)7) Brian Kelly (Cincinatti) - Update8) Skip Holtz (E. Carolina) - Update9) Chris Peterson (Boise State) - Update10) Houston Nutt (Ole Miss) - Update11) Jimbo Fisher (FL State) - UpdateRemember, contracts are only worth as much as their buyouts and people always say they want to stay where they are until they announce they are leaving. What do you think? Other names? Who do you like? How do you feel about Tuberville leaving? While I was not calling for Tuberville to leave, I kinda think next year was going to be a rebuilding year so the timing might be right. I like that things have gone down in as good of a way as possible.

This just in...

Tommy Tuberville was just fired. I wasn't on that band wagon, but maybe this can stop the bleeding we've all endured this season and give us a fresh start. Some leading candidates are:1) Mike Leach (Texas Tech pays him $1.75 million)2) Paul Johnson (Georgia Tech pays him $1.6 million)3) Steve Spurrier (South Carolina pays him $1.75 million)4) What do you think?Anyone want a pay raise? I'll be interested to do more research and see what everyone has to say about who might be coming. I hope Auburn jumps on this quick so we can get somebody good.Tubbs Record at Auburn:1999 Auburn 5–6 2000 Auburn 9–4 2001 Auburn 7–5 2002 Auburn 9–4 2003 Auburn 8–5 2004 Auburn 13–0 2005 Auburn 9–3 2006 Auburn 11–2 2007 Auburn 9–4 2008 Auburn 5–7 Averaged 4 Losses per Season

It's the Holiday Season...

Thanksgiving was lots of fun in Birmingham. Got to spend some time with my super cute neice and my nephew who is a little riot. I saw the new Bond movie with my brother-in-law and it was pretty good. I like that the last 2 Bond movies have been less sleazy than some of the previous films. We also saw Twighlight with the family and I liked it, now I'll have to read the books. I'm currently reading Black which is book 1 of the Circle Trilogy, interesting book.Jana and I are 80% done decorating out house for Christmas. We got some sweet large size LED Christmas lights for the house and have our tree up with the lights on it. Now I need to finish the back of the house and we need to put the ornaments on the tree. Fun Stuff!
