Request of an unusual sort.

Hey everyone. I have a bit of a request, and I fell kinda funny about asking for it. With all the other truly noble things to give your money towards, I feel weird for asking for it.But I will anyway. Because it's not for me, it's for Alex. His birthday is next month and he is turning 30 years old. That is kind of a big deal, I believe. Well anyway, he has this wish to be a part of this contest that he ran across last month. As I think you have gathered if you have read enough of my pass blogs, Alex is crazy for racing. Well, as I said, he came across a contest last month that allows him to race professional rally cars and the grand prize of the contest is: Use of a fully prepared National spec rally car with a World Rally Championship experienced professional co-driver, professional support crew with World Rally Championship experience, and a full professional support truck. All National drive running costs will be covered by sponsor, which includes: use of National spec rally...

2008: A Year in Review

Have you ever had an experince/time that was so life changing or altering, but you couldn't really put it into words? You just KNEW that no matter what happened to you after then, your life was different. And to vocalize it or articulate it would either demean the time or just not be enough? The year of 2008 has been that way for me.Not just relationship wise...but in many, many other ways. This year has been amazing. I have come to many realizations that I might have known in theory, or intellecually. But now I feel it and can swallow a wee bit of my pride and accept things. And enjoy the lessons learned.I understand that that was a bit vague. And I apologize, but I think you might know what I am attempting to say.Anyway, I'll attempt be be more concrete with slightly more benign things. But nonetheless:Jessi's "Best of 2008" list.Best song: You are the Best Thing - Ray LaMontagneBest albums: AMAZING year for albums. But I would have to say, The Clash - Live at...

Christmas this year might have been one of the best ones ever. There were just so many fabulous moments of laughing, crying, teasing, loving, great gifts and just a wonderful, wonderful experience all around.Alex and Dad made breakfast. Mom, Terra, Allison and I made dinner and Josh...well, he had no hand in food preperation, but he did gladly consume. :-)Santa brought a Wii and Guitar Hero to stay at Mom and Dad's house so when we all get together we can rock out. (Dad said that he WILL try it, but only completely by himself. That bums me out, because I would love to see that!)If you care, here were some of the gifts that were exchanged:to me from:Mom and Dad - nice pyrex dishes, cookie sheets, and other baking/cooking utensils. An "Office" day calandar. A cute little book about a Moose. (I like moose, they make me laugh). Towels (including some tennis towels!) and washclothes, and a few other cool little stocking stuffers including a Ray Lamontagne CD.Allison - T...

I can't tell you how excited I am for Christmas this year. My sis can turn me into a little girl again when it comes to this time of year. For me, Christmas is NOT Christmas without her and I dancing to Christmas music, watching White Christmas on Christmas Eve, texting each other for weeks ahead of time counting down to the day, and staying up ALL night Christmas Eve just talking, laughing and being kids again. This time last year, I was a bit nervous because it was the first time my fam was going to meet BBG. This year, no nervousness at all.JUST PURE EXCITEMENT!I can't wait for my loved ones to unwrap my gifts to them. :-)T minus 3 days!!!!Until then, enjoy some music:

Antici...............pation

One week til Christmas and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!In other news:There is a NASTY ice storm coming our way. I came into work at 5:45 so that I can leave as soon as anything hits the ground and still have some time in today. Please pray for those driving today. Snow is bad enough to drive through, but ice is different beast all together. It kinda frightens me.After the ice storm we are predicted to get 8 to 11 inches of snow in my area. I don't think I will be going to work tomorrow. Which is fine. I can stay in my pj's, drink some hot chocolate and finish reading my Ladies Book Club book. That sounds lovely. *sigh*For some reason I want to listen to Joe Cocker. But I don't have my Live album with me. *sigh*What are you listening to right now?Anyway, be safe, stay warm and God bless!

Flabbergasted

Drew Peterson is engaged. There is a woman out there that actually thinks he is worth marrying. This is the fifth wife. Wife #3 mysteriously died and wife #4 disappeared and he was suspected of her murder as well!I don't GET THAT!Women are officially insane. Not all. But this is not a tally in the sane column for my sex.I am floored.

Yeah, yesterday was nasty. We got some snow, well, not just some snow.I left work at 3:15 and didn't get home until 9:05.I am just thankful for my safe arrival, great Chicago radio stations, full tanks of gas, stashing food in my car and miraculously not having to go to the bathroom. And they are expecting a repeat of yesterday for tomorrow!Oh JOY!!!
