Good luck during the semester. I always feel really overwhelmed the first week. I think it's seeing all of the syllabi and thinking, "How am I ever going to get through this." Give it a week...I'm sure you'll get in the groove. Miss you;)
First off Andrew was right, it was a crack. And it just so happens to be a crack on my baby tooth! :) Yes I am 22 and still have a baby tooth... Not really sure why! haha.
Well let me tell you this dentist office was OFF THE CHAIN! :) He had this really cool fish tank! with all these fist and one that looked like Dory from Finding Nemo.
Anyways. I went to the Dentist, but my last visit was we week before Andrew and I got married.
Well they did xrays and then took pictures, yes pictures with a small camera on my teeth, and did my blood pressure!? haha not sure why that was but they did it.
The exam turns out to be all this not good news! :( So first off apparently I need a cleaning, which I'm ok with but then THEN! as the dentist contunited to talk he told me that I had a chip in my baby tooth, which needs to be sealed....BUT THEN HE INFORMS ME that I have 4 cavities on the top, and probably about 5 cavities on the bottom which need to be filled. :/
So then he leaves and the lady comes in to tell me how much it will cost... and Im sitting there listening to her tell me what I need and that every filling cost $145 bucks... WHAT! WHAT! 145 PER FILLING NEEDED! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
UGH....well so then I'm doing the math, and thinking of the lack of insurance and blah blah blah.. then i just get so overwhelmed I started to tear up, and then cry, not like super I can't stop I could still talk to her.... but ugh...
Then I get all situated, and she asked me if I had insurance and I said no, she said are you living at home with your parents? I was like IM MARRIED! >:O and then she was like.. ohhhh you look so young... I was like I AM! >:|
Anyways she leaves to get figures I calm down and Andrew and I go into her office to talk about pricing, and she kept saying stuff like now don't freak out and it's nothing to go home and cry about. I JUST WANTED TO TELL HER WHAT WAS GOOD AND SAY LOOK MISSY! You have a stable Job and insurance you probably don't have much money worries seeing how this is a nice job, and RAR.... I'm in school, married, and really have no source of income, and let me mention how the economy isn't helping that matter!
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! :)
Anyways it's going to be ok! But It made me think that Andrew needs to get looked at, so we made an appointment for him to get everything looked at, and Im going to get a cleaning and have the dentist tell me which cavities need to be fixed first and go from there.... So Come Jan 5th things will start to get better Lord willing.
I will say in closing that I know we have a GOOD GOD! HE WILL NOT PUT ANDREW AND I THROUGH SOMETHING WE CAN'T STAND.. HE IS AMAZING PRAISE HIM!
Here's one thing: Get a second opinion. When I first moved to San Antonio, the first dentist I went to told me I had several cavities and needed all this dental work and blah blah blah and he told my brothers the same thing. We'd always had perfectly healthy teeth! We found a dentist through some friends at church (one of our members was his receptionist) and we went to him for a 2nd opinion and he was like, "um... your teeth are fine, that guy was just trying to get money out of you. See you in six months for your cleaning/checkup."
that's my $.02.
I've had the same experience with getting a second opinion from a dentist; I didn't have to get near the work done at the 2nd dentist that the 1st said I "had to have done." I'd definitely get a second opinion.
That's crazy!! You know, I had 2 cavities and I just never even got them filled because it was too expensive, and they have been fine. I haven't had any problems with them. I don't see why you need to get the crack fixed if it's on a baby tooth anyways. It seems like that baby tooth could just be pulled, or maybe fall out one day?? lol...I don't know, I'm not a dentist. But I think sometimes they tell you things just to get more business, things you could get away without doing, if that makes sense...I probably need to go to the dentist myself, speaking of!
I second that... get a second opinion. I needed a $3000 transmission, turns out it was a $80 selector switch that fixed the problem. You just never know!
It's been far to long, and I've been far to busy! School, Work, Living....
WOW! It has been forever people! PHEW.... My last final is tomorrow at 8am. THANKFULLY! I'm so ready for a break, and done with stress! :)
I am doing well in school. My first internship to be teaching is next semester! I can't even believe it. I'm very excited/nervous! I kinda got a little taste of teaching this semester tutoring children with the job I have. The only thing is....my internship is THE BIG CLASSROOM with more than one set of eyes on you! ekk... :P But still it's exciting. Lord Willing I'll be a Senior in the Fall of 09! Man :) Thats going to be even more exciting!
Marriage is wonderful as ever! :) Andrew and I are having our first Christmas together which is pretty exciting and special! We will be driving up to KY to go see Papa and Grandma and everyone on the KY side of the fam. :)
What else to report!? Ah yes. Apperentally I have this chip(according to Andrew)/crack(according to me) regardless what it is.... something is wrong with my tooth! I have stopped drinking soda for the time being, and started taking calcium and drinking more milk. I noticed the chip thing a week ago. And at first I thought it was popcorn just stuck in my teeth, but later when I acutally looked at it I concluded otherwise... sooo needless to say I'm a little nervous about it. I go to the Dentist tomorrow after my final to see what is wrong with it... I hope its nothing horribly wrong, luckily I get my exam, x-ray, and consulation for free ... besides its not like they won't be getting money because they are going to have to do something about it. So I'm really hoping its something that wont be CRAZY expensive especially not being insured.
You know not having insurance is a scarey thing, and to be frank we just can't afford everything, and something has to give, and even if we cut out everything we DIDN'T need like internet or whatever... it still would be very hard to pay..
BLLAAAAH Being an Adult at times is not fun! :)
Oh well! That's part of Life..

P.S. Thankgiving break was terrible. I was pretty much living in the bathroom having to throw up every 5 seconds because I got so ill.... THAT AFTERNOON I ATE ALL THIS FOOD AND THAT NIGHT AND THE NEXT FEW DAYS OF BREAK WERE TERRIBLE... THEN ANDREW GETS SICK AND IS SICK ON THE WAY HOME ... It was NOT MY CUP OF TEA :(
I am scared about eating a lot over Christmas Break... need I say more!? :)
I love you Adeline! :) I do wish that I could see you over the break. I'm glad you guys are doing well, all except the tooth (good luck with that) and being sick over Thanksgiving break. Give your sweet husband a big hug from me too!
oh no, sorry about being sick over Thanksgiving!! But I'm glad things are going well other than that. :) I am looking forward to my first Christmas with Jesse too! Exciting!! We put up a big tree and decorated and he helped me put up lights outside. It was so much fun.

I broke a whopping chunk out of my tooth this year, and all the dentist had to do was polish it to smooth off the broken area. It wasn't too expensive; I hope that is all you need, too! Thanks for the birfday wishes!
