Jason may remember we had lawn chairs out by the trash cans for over a year. With an upcoming group meeting, I had in mind to revive these chairs. Result of watching way too much HGTV. Two of the chairs were previously covered in green canvas, one webbing. I went to the local Walmart and bought yellow, butterschotch, and navy stripe canvas. Then I found variegated blue plastic webbing. I restored the three chairs! The green patio furniture has been rusting. Must be repainted; I bought nave blue paint and spray painted the table and chairs. Now it all coordinates. The lighthouse has been pealing and rotting away. Joel bought the necessary supplies and he and Kelton painted the lighthouse navy with white trim. He also borrowed our neighbors flat trailer and hauled off all the trash aroung the shed to the dump. What a difference! While Joel was on his sailing expedition, Kelton and I burned the yard trash. Wow!!! what flames!!! Kelton had a hose on one side, I had a hose on the other side. Done in 15 minutes! I heard sirens in the distance. Quickly, Kelton and I made sure the area was no longer smoking and recoiled the hoses. The night of the meeting, Caitlin sat on a small camp stool. Ten minutes later the fabric split down the center. No worries... I still have canvas to repair the stool.
A group of ladies are gathering to learn and do crafts. I have recently learned how to crochet. I no longer feel guilty for watching TV. I am creating an object that my family can snuggle under and keep warm.
I was quartermaster for the annual Caya Costa event. We had over 50 participants. The weather was great and there was something for everyone to do, or not do.
Early in September I applied to substitute in the county schools. It is nearly November and I still am not activated. It is frustrating. However, I did take my resume to three schools this week. One to be a kindergarten aide, one temporary first grade position, and one third grade position. I am praying for the third grade position. IF your pray lists are not too long, please add my request to your list.
Joel had his birthday this week. A small family gathering.
Thats all for now. I hope I have appeased my little ones. Love you, MOM
I didn't know which one to call......I said vases, but I didn't know what to call them, what I'm picturing is more like a candle holder type thing, because I have all these rose candles and the stones to put at the bottom of the glass holder, but don't have the holders themselves
We would love to join you guys. We are also housing a friend who didn't have anywhere to go during thanksgiving either, Michael Claxton. I really appreciate the invitation, just let me know if there is anything that I need to bring.
Actually, Kelton is pretty muchon his own. I just lay out the lessons, and glance over his work. Feel free to call anytime. I am usually up at 7A and down at 11P.
Hey me and James are fine. We have been attending services at Brandon. We both are keeping busy with work and the holidays coming up. Hope all is well with you and the family. :)
Family members have strongly encouraged me to update. So I took the time to update. Actually wrote 5 paragraphs. pressed add entry. and zap. it was gone..........Debating if I should attempt it again......
It has been very strange as everyone else prepares to go back to school. This will be the first year in over about 15 years that I have not left any children at home alone to set up a classroom and attend boring preplanning sessions. SO...I have loaned out classroom library books, baskets, and other teacher necessities to two first year teachers.
I went to a come and go coffee last week and one of the ladies there reminded me that even though I am not in a traditional classroom, I am teaching. She's right. I am teaching Kelton 8th grade at home and have spent hours on the computer looking at Classical Education sites and schools checking and double checking that I have not missied anything that will "damage" Kelton's educational opportunities.
As far as his socialization, he was just elected as the Program VP for his Venturing Crew and is still involved with his Boy Scout troop.
typically you reply to my comments on my site so I can read them.
If you comment on your site then it is luck if I happen to read it. But, that's what we use the little white dots next to people's names for. Once you add people to your friend's list, when their name turns white it means they posted and when there is a little white dot next to it it means that there is a new comment there since you last looked at their blog. :-)
washer and dryer is very attractive to me... :-D Laundry is HEAVY and I'd hate to have to lug it all over the apartment complex to do the laundry! :-) But, if that's what it takes...
Hmmm... are you looking at the Target registry? We decided not to Register at Target (they didn't have enough of what we wanted and their return policy isn't that great)
The bedding we selected is from Kohls.
The kitchen stuff is from Macy's.
We are looking at doing multi-colored in the kitchen. Neutral appliance colors but colorful dishes. Kitchen colors are Cobalt blue, sunflower yellow, scarlet and plum. :-)
Living room: we are going to put neutral colored slip covers on the couches and have a garnet red be the accent color.
Jason definitely has some great husband skills :-).
You may come whenever you like in January! I will say for sure that we are having (on Friday morning) a "bridesmaid's luncheon" thrown by a lady from church to give me a chance to honor all the special women in my life. That would include you and Caitlin.
Beyond that, I truly have no idea... most of the decorating is going to happen probably thursday/friday night (I need to clear with the facility when we can actually get in there and start).
You're welcome to come and just spend some time with people; we'd all love that! I can't promise a lot of entertainment but we can certainly try! :-)
Thanks for the clarification. I have been able to spend the las two days with Caitlin. It has meant so much to me. We will plan on being there at least by Thursday, if not sooner. I will let you know firm dates in NOv/Dec. Thank you for including us on Friday morning. Kelton needs to know fruity, seasonal as in Christmas, or fresh and clean? Call him/or me.
We do not require any entertaining. With Joel, we have a live in comedian. Add Kelton, we have a storyteller, and Caitlin, we have a singer. Viola! ENTERTAINMENT!
Caitlin was the MOST BEAUTIFUL bride I have ever seen! She will not know what she put me through until she goes through it with her daughter. BUT>>>>>it was worth every minute. Because of the speed of the wedding due to the impending rains, I didn't have time to cry the river I predicted. The skies took care of that for me.
Those are beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Yes, I would very much like to join you for your first bridal shower; however, Joel reminds me that I will be with the council Venturing Crews at our favorite barrier island: Caya Costa for that weekend. Please send me pictures. :)
