and it's time to quit eating. I have REALLY over done it this year, but it was all connected with good times. That's my defense, but now it's time to slow down, get back to exercising, and remembering that I eat to live -- not live to eat.
This was the best holiday season I've seen in a couple of years. It gave me the opportunity to do something I've not done in a long time, and that is have people in my home. I have missed entertaining, so it made me happy to be able to do it.
I guess the kids' Christmas party got the ball rolling. Last evening we had 11 young people in our home for NYE. (Elizabeth, Hannah, Chloe, Ryan, Kyle, Merrit, Jordan, Wesley, Raylon, Nettie, and Michael.) We started the evening at our mid-week worship service, which was a song service. How nice to have that many young people willing to begin the NYE festivities in that way. Then we came back to our house for pizza, chips, punch, and lots of desserts. The kids played games and just enjoyed being together. I was up till 3:15, but the kids were up till 5:15.
Chloe came first and stayed the longest. That gave us the chance to meet her parents. We had dinner with them this evening before they took her home. It's nice we have this black screen to "visit" with one another, but nothing replaces face-to-face conversation -- in my opinion. I'd like to meet more of you.
Now it's time to get the decorations down and try to put some normalcy back into our lives -- starting tomorrow. I'm really tired tonight. Monday will find us back in school and back to work. |

I'm not sure which I'm doing sometimes. Christmas has come and gone. We had a very good day at my dad's. It was nice to have him home and enjoying all the activities. Abby was home, too.

We went to the Datyon/Cincinnati area Friday. We saw Abby's new apartment and then headed to Cincinnati to a reception for our newly married nephew. We stayed with Mark's brother Friday night and enjoyed Christmas with their family early Saturday. Then we headed back to the Dayton area.

Abby had a few things that needed to be moved to her new place, so we moved what we could, and I helped her clean the "old" place. We were glad we could be there to help her a little. She has some very good friends who did the big moving for her, and we appreciate that. We got home about midnight last night and got both puppies home today. I'm lost without those furry, four-legged friends of ours.

Next up is New Year's Eve. Elizabeth is hoping to have some friends here that night to ring in the new year. I do enjoy having young folks in our home. I hope we have a house full.

I hope you are all enjoying some good family time. |
