I was very pleased with the GPS system I got for Christmas from my son. It consisted of a very nice road atlas and a compass for my car.
I was told by the lady at the Truth Bookstore that I got the last two CDs they had that go with the Sumphonia Hymn Supplement. She said there were not going to be any more made. I understand the completed Sumphonia songbook will go to publication within the next year or so, and I plan to know 36 new songs before the big books are published. My goal is to learn a song per day, and I plan to start tomorrow. And I still need to learn the rest of Anne's songs that she's written that I haven't learned yet. And then there's Aleta's new children's songs coming soon. This is going to be a busy year learning songs! |

If you'd like to wish Steve a Happy Birthday, go here. I was hoping he'd post some pictures of the wedding he went to in Waxahachie, TX, this past weekend, but so far nothing, nil, nada. :)
I am enjoying a better-than-normal winter attitude. I like to think it is answered prayers, but I also think there's something to these flaxseed oil supplements I began taking 1.5 months ago.
I dreamed last night that I needed to help raise money for some important cause. I was in Woodstock, IL on one of the loveliest town squares in the world (if you've seen the old movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray, you'll know what I mean. It even has the original brick road and an opera house.) Anyway there were lots of people who wanted to help raise money, but it seems I was in charge of the event and the brochure and all the decision-making. I hope it's a paid position. :) |

Two nights ago, I commented to Eva, who was wishing us a Happy 2009, that I was still busy with 2008 and hadn't had time to think about 2009. Today I noticed I had a different attitude. It was a joy finishing a couple of more 2008 projects and preparing for 2009. I transferred lots of birthday dates from my 2008 calendar to my 2009 calendar. ***As an aside, my birthday calendar is a Lion's Club Int'l calendar, and my husband's photo graces the top of January 2009 of a beautiful winter scene from last year taken at one of our state parks where he was cross-country skiing.*** ***As another aside, if you'd like to be wished a happy birthday from me on your special day, please let me know when your birthday is so I can mark my calendar.*** :)
One of the highlights of 2008 included meeting Pleo friends -- whether in my neck of the woods or yours or simply talking on the phone. I received some special gifts from Pleo friends that included a dozen homegrown eggs, kitchen towels that matched my new kitchen colors, and a beautiful wall hanging.
I am psyched about 2009. I have some new ideas for our Ladies Bible class I'm hoping our group will want to try. I ordered some women's Bible class books today to maybe get some even better ideas. I am already planning to have a few ethnic-themed dinners, starting with a Swedish smorgasbord in February. I am going to revive Comfort & Sharing as soon as I iron out one more kink.
And, Lord willing, I already having something in the works for January 1, 2010. You are cordially invited to a singing/potluck at our home that day. So, weather permitting, mark your 2010 calendar and come join us. |

Our Internet has been down since last Saturday night. We've been "working" with the DSL/systems/Internet tech guys in India, and they have been able to sporadically give us Internet access. It's a bummer how much I/we have become dependent on the Internet and all the access it gives us to being with friends and researching topics and getting the best deals for our money.
It has been such a joy having Steve home this week. We're having an early gift exchange tomorrow. On the positive side, I got most of our shopping done early, and we'll be able to do store exchanges before the rest of you even open your gifts. :) Steve has some great Christmas plans, so I won't feel sad for him; it's his father and I who will miss him on the 25th.
I'm so excited. I now have a "project" room. We moved the guest bedroom into Steve's room, since he took his twin bed to Tuscaloosa. We moved his large white-top desk into my project room that I will use for scrapbooking, stamping, etc. My desk/computer area will be my Bible study/writing area. Lastly, my sewing machine will be moved in so I can start sewing again. I bought a hardly used Singer sewing machine about three years ago and haven't used it at all.
Happy holidays! If I don't get back to you soon, it's because our Internet went out again, and I apologize in advance. |
