I'll share anyway. Our labradoodle, Penny is a year old now. She's a great dog and gets quite busy/excitable. I bought a clock to put on the wall downstairs and put the battery in it yesterday afternoon. I wasn't able to hang it on the wall yet, so I brought it back up to the kitchen and sat in on the floor in a corner for the time being. Penny, was in the kitchen with hubby and me and doing her thing when she spotted the clock with the ticking noise. She had to check it out and every time the second hand ticked, she flinched. I forgot to mention that she is huge but still a fraidy-cat! She stared at the clock and would get closer and closer but each second flinch, flinch, flinch, flinch.
In other news, we had a nice Christmas break. We spent a lot of time with family and friends, it was great. Craig, Clint and Paula made it back to school safely, for which I am thankful.
We're looking forward to my niece's wedding this weekend in Houston. It's hard to believe it's already here.
Hope everyone had a good break and that we can all really focus on important things this new year.
I LOVE that entry...Dogs are sooo entertaining. We have this hilarious video of ZoMo (one of our poodles) barking crazily at birds on the TV screen. He kept trying to jump behind the TV because he thought they were back there! SO funny! Also, he goes berzerk when there are horses on the TV. He absolutely hates horses for some reason!
It's been good to cross your path twice in the past two weeks when I hardly EVER get to see you!
Hope you have a safe trip to Houston and a great 2009!!!
Thanks! It still hasn't sunken in yet. I was in Auburn this past weekend working on the house and loading up another load of stuff. I'll be glad when everything is done.
Wednesday night I taught the Kindergarten-1st Grade Bible class. The regular teacher was sick. There were two boys in class, two of their classmates weren't there either.
I had a volunteer to pray and we were talking about who/what we should pray for. MaryAnn's son very deliberately said that 'we should pray for Santa to have a safe trip' and the he definitely remembered to pray for him. Funny thing though, he prayed for a safe trip to 'our land' but didn't mention a safe trip home. I guess as long as he gets to come here safely, he's on his own to get back to the North Pole. How precious is that :) So, never fear!
In other news: my nephew Dan is doing great. He was able to to to worship Wednesday night and is recovering remarkably well. Thank you for prayers.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas break!
hahaha. That had to be Andy! of course I suppose it could have been Jesse too, but it really sounds like something Andy would say. That is hysterical! :) I love those kids.
Please keep my nephew, Dan Sledge, in your prayers. He had a wreck on Saturday. His racing Go-Cart had brake failure and the Go-Cart flipped and landed on him. His T-3 vertebrae is crushed and he is scheduled for surgery tomorrow (Tuesday). He has a couple of cracked ribs and other bumps and bruises. We're very thankful that he has done well so far.
Other prayer requests include safe travels for my twoboys and friend as they come home for winter break. I'm looking forward to all my boys being under the same roof.
Hope everyone is doing well and not too frantic with the shopping frenzy and rush.
mercy. i can't wait till your boys get home. i want to some how see them over xmas break. the whole gang. lemme know if yall are gonna be at oak mt. i'll have to come and say hi and give hugs! ...and of course annoy walker. :)
I am very blessed and very very thankful to God. Things I am thankful for:
*The Lord, for his wonderful grace and plan for our salvation
*Jesus Christ, who took on my sins in my stead
*God's plan who provides for a happy life if we just follow
*My husband, who I love and respect more and more
*My children, who are growing into fine young men
*My extended family who love and support us always
*My family in Christ
*Firefighters and Paramedics and all others who support emergency situations
(Funny I wouldn't have thought of the last one before this week (sad huh) but I am thankful for them because of an accident that happened with a dear family this week. -And we thought moving was the most stressful thing they would face that night! :) In a nutshell - My friend's 11 year old son took a bad fall while we were boxing up the last things in the house they were moving from(we were in the next room). He was unconscious, then throwing up - very scary. The ambulance and firetruck came fast I'm sure but we were in slow motion probably but they took him to the hospital. He has a severe concussion but is doing very well now. I know the this family has a lot to be thankful for as well.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
yes your children are growing up to be very fine young me. they are already leaders in the church. you've obviously done something right! i love you and walker!
Well, you got your wish---it WAS a good game ;>) This was the first time in many years I've actually gotten to be in Alabama on the big day; it was kind of weird to see so many ALA & AUB shirts everywhere after being surrounded by so much Big Orange for so long !
