As I was leaving services tonight Wilson (age 5?) came up to me to say goodbye and give me a hug (sweet huh?). Well when Wilson was younger he was determined that he would marry me.He hadn't said anything about it lately but tonight it came up again. Someone asked me if he still wanted to marry me and since I didn't know I asked him. It went something like this :)
Me: Wilson do you still want to marry me?
Wilson: *in a rather sympathetic tone* I think I'm going to have to marry someone else. Because you are too old and when I get married you will already be married. So...I will have to marry someone else.
Me: Right. Well that's good.
Wilson: But!...When your husband dies then I can marry you!
LOL! When my Ben was little, he always said he was going to marry his Auntie. As youth does, he had a little sweetheart at the lake where I took them for swim lessons. Her name was Jen! Every day, he would take her by the hand and lead her down to the water when it was time for their lesson, because she was scared. She was not scared when Ben was with her though! Then, lessons stopped for the summer, and Ben had not seen Jen for a long time. Then, several months later, she walked in with her family to the scouts crossover ceremony where we were for Chris. The minute he saw her, his eyes lit up and he said, "Ooooh, Mommy, I am going to marry......Auntie," he finished with a dejected sigh!
I remember when Taylor was going to marry you! It's funny how things change isn't it? Eventually children grow up and head off to college or other places where they meet their significant other. It's funny listening to children speak so candidly about their plans for the future though.
Hey, do you have Jeff and Libby's phone number? If you do (I hope someone in your family does...), could you email it to me either through gmail or facebook? Muchos gracias!
I have to be up there already in the second week of November, and I'd like to come again for Thanksgiving too, but the expense may be too much. I'll see how much the first trip costs, and what the gas prices are in late November.
I think ....I know the exact garment- its a skirt made out of a fabulous 70's table cloth (olive green, mustard yellow, pink, with a thick green fringe) :)
Brianne, you have not posted in over a month and even this post doesn't give much detail! I don't know what's going on in your life! You could be dead for all I know! You could have been dead for over a month!! Are you OK?!?! Are you safe?!?!?! AHHHH! YOU'RE PROBABLY ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD RIGHT NOW AS I TYPE THIS!
Trying not to work myself into a panic,
~ Your dear friend
My lovely niece is now a year old! She has grown so much :) I know she is such a great source of joy to her mom and dad :) I miss that little girl so much! She is by far my favorite niece ;) ha.
Whoa, nice! She did enjoy the cake ... playing in it, at least, maybe not so much eating it! She hardly ate it at all, even though I tried to feed her some!
Tomorrow morning Adam is leaving for FC...it hasn't really hit me yet. It's going to be weird being the oldest kid at home! I'll miss you Adam! Even your strange, crazy and random side. :)
Mom is driving Adam and Catherine down to FC tomorrow. She is going to be gone for a week so that means Dad and I get to hold down the fort :) It should be fun! We've done if before and it went fine, though we were all very very excited to have mom back! So here is to a week of cooking and mom duty! Fun! I'm actually looking forward to it! :) It'll be fun getting to cook and clean and do everything! Though it'll be nice handing it back to mom at the end of the week;)
This past week has been pretty good. Though I didn't accomplish near the amount I had hoped to! I guess that's what happens when you're sick! Lord willing I'll get more done this coming week now that I'm all better! Yay! It's such a blessing that God made our bodies so that the heal! I'm thankful.
I've decided that watching twins interact with each other is one of the cutest and sweetest things ever!!! If only I lived near someone who had twins...
Ok well this turned out to be longer than I meant for it to be! Ha! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and that each day you find yourself a step farther!
Have fun! When we first got married I remember how much fun it was to be in charge of the household duties. I do still really enjoy it- especially certain aspects, like cooking ... but cleaning the bathroom lost any sentimentality pretty quickly. ;) hehe
My neighbor across the hall has twin 20 month olds. I am sure she wouldn't mind your help. Actually I don't know that they both seem to be very private people. :)
Sister dear, it would please me to no end to come and visit you wonderful Smelser people.
I'm moving to Indiana the second week of September. I was thinking of checking with your daddio to see if anything is shakin' and if its okay to drop in overnight or something.
