Just wanted to let everybody know that Lee & Marcie and little Nicolai arrived safely this evening. It is so good to have them home for a few days. Nicolai did great for his first flight across the ocean, spending the flight charming anyone who would look his way. By the time they arrived in Nashville he was out for the night.
He doesn't even realize that he has just flown across an ocean to come to his Nanna and Pa's house and to meet his family and friends. Can't wait for you all to meet him. :-) I can't wait till the morning so I can hold him and show him all the fun things you get to do when you go to Nanna and Pa's house. Hope to post some pictures soon.
I didn't realize they were coming for a visit. Too fun!! "Charming anyone who would look his way" - I'm sure he'll be doing a lot of that. Looking forward to the pictures. Hope you all have fun!

Hey - missed out tonight because we had already made plans for Austin + 20 others to be here for late lunch/early supper... and we are just now recovering from that. Don't think I have time to cook and get over there!!
We got to spend Thanksgiving dinner with your parents in Lawton. It was so good to see them. They seem to be doing fairly well, but I hate that they are doing so much driving all the time. Enjoy that sweet baby!
Hey, I don't know if I have it in me to make it to a card class this week. It may just be too much, but we'll see. I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon, gotta take these things one day at a time =) Is it an ordering month, and if so when do you need the order?
That had to be scary. Good friends of A's. Thankful for their safety. I think maybe A understood our concerns a little better... maybe? I only know of one time when kids from FC have been hurt to and from breaks, etc - or hurt someone else in the how many years of association. I'm sure there are other times, but still ... with the miles they drive, in the altered state of minds (dead from finals, etc).... just very thankful right now. For A safely home, and for her friends also.
It is hard to believe in just a few hours we will be leaving to return home. We have spent the month of September in Hungary and it seems like we just got here. We have had a wonderful time being with Marcie and Lee and have become quite attached to a little boy named Nicolai. :-) We have taken lots of pictures and I will be posting some of them later. The last two weeks have been so busy with the lectures, there has not been a lot of time for posting on our blogs.
Several that came to the lectures have shown interest in learning more about the Bible. Lee has been asked for studies and two of which are this week. A man and his wife and a neighbor attended every night of both lectures and indicated they will continue to visit. Please continue to pray that hearts are honest and a door has been opened for those that are searching for God's truth.
I have much to share about our time here in a foreign country. It has been quite a journey and one that has been quite humbling at times. I will have to shave those for another time, for now I really do need to get some sleep. Keep us in your prayers for a safe return. We look forward seeing you all soon.
Just one quick request before I go. I would like to ask you to
keep my brother in your prayers. He has recently been restored to the Lord and is under going some very difficult trials right now. Pray for him to have wisdom and safety in the choices he must make concerning his physical safety. His life is really in danger from those who wish to do him harm. I am not able to give you any more details at this time, but do desire your prayers on his behalf.
Hope you have a safe trip. I hope things get better for my uncle. Mom and dad have told me a little of what's going on and I know he's having a really tough time right now. It's extremely encouraging that he was restored and I'm keeping him and all our family in my thoughts. Love y'all!
We are having a great time getting to know Nicolai. It has been
amazing to us as to how attached he already is to his mama. I just thought I would get to sit and rock him. This little guy is constant motion. When it is sleepy time no one will do but his mama and don't even look at him if he is hungary. lol However all the other times he is so sweet and happy. The pictures below are some of those times. He loves to look at books and will squeal and smile when you talk to him. The joys of being a grandparent really are wonderful gift. :-)
Last Saturday we drove about 4 hours to the city of Brno in the Cezech Republic. Lee & Rick were invited to speak at the lectures they have once every two months. It was such a blessing to meet the Christians that had come from different parts of the Czech Republic. We have known of these brethren for many years and the growth of the church there.
Last night was the first of the lectures planned for this week. They are being held in a room at one of the universities in Budapest. We were all very excited to have 8 new visitors! We pray they return this evening and others come as well. During last week when Lee & Rick were handing out announcements for the lectures, some showed real intrest in coming. Please keep praying for honest hearts seeking the truth.
The fall rains seem to have arrived along with the cooler air. The last few days the temp has been in the low 50's and nights in the 40's. From what I see others blogs you are getting to enjoy some cooler weather as well. It is hard to believe 2 of the 4 wks are already gone. Time flies when your having fun. Enjoy your week, I know we will ours! :-)
Ahhh, time does fly by. I think Michael and Nick are made of the same things...sounds like they have the same personalities. Love the pictures. I'm glad other things are going well for you guys also!
So glad you found me!! I am amazed at how many brethren are on here and growing. We are glad you all are having a wonderful time and enjoying your new grandbaby. I've somehow wandered your way (trails are fascinating) but I wanted to greet you and rejoice with you in your visit with your kids. I live in South Africa where my husband has been preaching and teaching for many years.
Daisy is doing much better. She is a happier dog now that her stiches are out and that she does not have to wear the cone on her head anymore. I'm doing okay. Went to the doctor yesterday for a follow up and while I was there I had them check out my nose. I have a sinus infection. The good news is that this is the 1st one I've had since April! Improvement...
We are beginning to feel adjusted to the new time of 7 hrs. ahead of those of you back in the States. Marcie & Lee have keep us busy so as to make the adjustment easier.
Rick and I agree being a Grandparent is pretty Grand! Nicolai is even sweeter than the pictures can show! We are getting lots of hugs and cuddles. Just for the record Rick got to hold Nick first and has been getting his fair share of hold time. Yesterday we went into Budapest and got to do some site seeing. Lee got these shots of Marcie and Rick holding Nick. In the next picture if you look closely at Rick's arm you will understand his expression of "Help Me!" Nick had just made a white deposit on his arm. lol Those of you that know Rick will understand how funny this can be.
We are planning to go and tour a Castle later today. After today the time for site seeing will be very limited. Rick and Lee have much work to do with getting ready for the lectures. As much fun as it is getting to be here with our family there is much work to be done. Pray for open minds and searching hearts to hear the Gospel that the Lord's work will grow here in Budapest.
Thanks to all that have made this trip possible and the things you are doing for us in absence. We appreciate it more than you will ever know!
I just love the pictures. I can't tell you how happy I am that yall got to go (that don't sound too good does it?). Tell Rick babies do not descriminate, they spit up on the just and the unjust alike. Also, Marcie looks absolutly wonderful.
I love the picture of Marcie her dad - so, so sweet! And the one with Rick and Nicolai - too funny. But poor little Nicolai - can't see a thing with his little down his face!! I'm really glad you both were able to go over there. I know the lectures will be exciting and so hope many will be obedient to our Lord's gospel. Does Marcie remember me? When Rick was here for a meeting, I was living in an apartment and invited the ladies over. Was Marcie around 14 then? I took a picture of her holding Wesley who's in the 4th grade this year. Where does the time go?
What a wonderful visit. I am so glad you have this time to spend with them, and just wish it could be more often. I know the time will fly by, but enjoy every moment. Nick is so sweet.
You all look so happy. I can't imagine how you felt the first time you got to hold little Nick. What a blessing to get to spend so much time there...although it's probably going by too fast already!

Thanks for posting the great pics, I know ya'll are enjoying the joys of being grandparents, too bad you missed all the hard work in Louisville, we just got home and we are worn out, the kids were worn out too, but everything was coming together and looking great, can't wait til ya'll can head up there and see their new digs. Give me white deposits over brown, anyday ;>) Ben's worn the same outfit IN to services the last 2 Sundays, but comes OUT with a different outfit on--fun, fun :>) So glad you've been able to finally meet Nic in person and vice versa; judging from these and the pics on Marcie's site, you've decided he's a keeper. Hope your visit is everything you thought it would be and then some; we miss you though !
Marcie looks so happy with her dad!! You and Rick look even happier to be with that adorable little guy!! I hope that the work that is planned goes well. I know that your efforts will be rewarded.

Awe! He is so cute! Hey if he goes for older babes! Lilia is now almost 4 months old!!! They would be cute together!! CONGRATS Grandma!!!
