Matthew was eating an apple today and accidently swallowed a seed. He was concerned, I told him he would be OK. I started thinking about the song that goes something like: only God knows how many apples are in a seed. I started thinking about how we say the seed is planted when we teach someone the gospel and I wonder how many people come to Christ by the one planting. Does that make sense? Do I let the Word of God feed me and water me to the point I am fruitful? I really am lacking. I let the cares of this world bring me down and forget to go to His Holy Word to build me up, to grow up.
Scripture comes to mind...
Philippians 1:6-11:
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
For it is only right for me to feel this way about you all, because I have you in my heart, since both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of grace with me.
For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.
And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment,
so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ ;
having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Wow. Neat thought Cheryl. I have often read and heard the parable of the seed. We know it is the word of God. I have never considered how many 'Christians' are in that seed. Just like in the apple seed, God knows. :·)
thanks for that, it is a good reminder and thing to thing about. This is the yr I am working on myself, spiritually, physically, and definatly mentally!
I do curves, about 35 a month, but they don;t have a weight loss program, you can weigh in whenever you want, and once a month they measure you from top to bottom, so you can see your progress! I love it, although I don't exercise, this is fun!
Wow. They have internet in the hills of Tennessee!!??? hehe.
Missed you Wednesday evening. Mark and I were all alone up front on 'our' pew. Hope you have a safe, uneventful trip home. Love y'all! Happy New Year! :·)
Merry Day After! We had a wonderful time here. To many gifts, to much food...
Thanks to Kelly and not 'celebrating' until 3pm I managed to get everything done! :·)
Good morning dear sister, I looked for you... so I was glad to get your message. Thank you for trying. I realize so many things are out of our control, so I'm glad you are ok and we will just continue our kinship in this manner. I really enjoy the lights in your previous clip. I got to see the same effort (different music) in Mountain View in person. Wonderful!
