I passed on your best wishes to Gene. So many spoiled that boy last night, so don't worry about not saying anything. He even got away with a coconut pie.
The story is by David Weaks about he and Perri. I'm sure you know them.
I'm so glad Logan likes the calendar. Gene and I got such great pics of the animals at the St. Louis Zoo, I just couldn't let them go to waste. Thanks for sharing how it's the little things that matter for a child. I hope Logan is feeling better.
This past Sunday morning, before we left the house for bible class we decided another attempt to search for the whistle Logan misplaced. Those of you with small children know how they can drive you insane when they have lost their favorite toy of the week. One place I had not searched was the couch, many small toys find their way under the cushions or in between the couch. (we have a 3 piece sectional). I began lifting the cushions up, but not reaching in this time, not sure what stopped me from doing that, but boy oh boy am I glad i didn't. Under the middle cushion, all coiled up, was a water moccasin snake . It was approximatley a foot long. (But as Robert indicated, "it doesn't matter how big it is"). Once it realized the cushion was no longer covering it, it stretched out and slithered into a small hole in the back of the couch that lead to the bottom. Once it disappeared from my sight, I thought, "wow.... now what, how are we going to get that thing out?" At that moment, my son came into the room and I calmly said, "honey, go get Daddy". Needless to say, after realizing there was absolutely now way to retrieve this "critter", or coax it out, in order to remove it from our premises without destroying the couch. We decided, the slithering un-invited guest could have our sofa of 20 years if he needed it that bad. I certainly did not want to share it with a snake. All 3 pieces of our sectional sofa have been relocated to the deck, awaiting its new home at the dump. Unfortunately, Logan missed his first day with his new classroom teacher, in which he was utterly upset and couldn't stop talking about it on the way to services.
Gene thought I knew all these details, but I hadn't heard much of anything, other than what I wrote. Wow. I wonder...I have some rubber snakes...and I need a new couch....
Logan led a nice prayer in class this morning. He and Ethan played the part of the scribes and the Pharisees in our role playing this morning. I forgot the flannelgraph and one of them said, "Make us the flannelgraph!" So I did!
Great pictures! He looks so much older with his new do. BTW, Gene didn't have a single Whataburger burger; just a breakfast one day. And I was a good P's wife on the airplane, thank you very much! :)
Well, I guess I was. I did ask for extra peanuts. But I was hungry!
I'm hoping kindergarten has helped all of them! Ha ha! Concerning walking, whenever I get out of my routine, I like to start back at a ridiculously simple and short distance so that I have NO excuse not to get out there and do it. Plus, adding on little distances gives me many victories. Before I know it, I've added a lot and my body can handle it and even craves it.
I know! It seems like yesterday that he was just born! One of my favorite pictures is the one on facebook where he is about 2 or 3, has that red tank top and shorts on, with that curly hair in the back!
Make sure and take a picture of logan on his first day of school! with his backpack and everything! and you should take one of him in front of the school too.. I look back on our pics like that and i love them! precious moments. Make sure you take lots of tissues with you! ;)
Great pics! That looks like so much fun! Loving the pics. I'm going to have to check out the site for tickets! I didn't realize it was in town already.
Where have I been?! There's a lot more pictures on here than when I first saw them. Looks like y'all had a lot of fun. I haven't been to a circus since I was younger than Logan.
