I received an early call from my sister-in-law in Africa wishing me a happy birthday. I was completely not expecting to hear her voice! What a pleasant way to start the day.
It's Thursday!! Almost the weekend!!! Yay!!! :)
For any in the area:
Starting Sunday 1/11 - Wed 1/14, Cedar Park will be holding a gospel meeting with Richard Thetford. Come if you can!! Sunday at 9:30, 10:30 & 5pm and weekday nights at 7:30.
I didn't know about the meeting! I would say that we would try to make it, but I don't know how easy that will be considering Jesse's knee...we'll see. That's awesome that Hilary called you!!! And Happy Birthday!
Today I finally received the new ac adapter for my computer. Almost 2 weeks ago mine completely snapped off and I didn't realize it until my battery was almost dead. I used what juice I had left to find and order and new adapter. It's finally here!
Our family has also spent the last 4 of 5 weekends being out of town at different places for different celebrations/holidays. Wow! That's a lot of travel! I know we have one more trip planned to my grandparents for this coming weekend and then hopefully things well settle down back to "normal" ;)
Between the travels and lack of computer time, I feel like I'll be catching up for awhile with everyones updates. Hope all is well and everyone has enjoyed what ever family time they were able.
Glad it came (and that it wasn't broken after seeing how it was squished into the mailbox! lol) I am way excited about the weekend at Granny & Papa's. It'll be fun :)
Yeah, we sang that song over Christmas break...at least it's better than others that she's learned as "Cha Cha's song"...if you know what I'm sayin. ;) lol!
After not feeling in the normal swing of things for the past few days, today was a nice turn around and very productive.
Returning home after our Thanksgiving travels always takes a lot out of the kids and myself. To top off my lack of energy, the father of the little boy I keep has had some extremely long days this week. During a normal week, he's picked up around 3:30-4. This past week there was only one day he was picked up before 6:30pm. That made this week extremely long.
This morning I got an unexpected, but good phone call. Luke's dad took a much needed day off, thus giving me a much needed day off! Whoo Hoo!
So this is what we got done today:
- Decorated Christmas tree and house with festive Christmas decor
- Went to the bank & paid bills
- Went by Mardel's, a really neat education/Christian store & Hobby Lobby for some sales
- Went to a much needed girls's night while our husbands were at a college game. Thanks for the pick me up! I definitely needed it!! :)
- Went to Kohl's "power hours" and got a couple of Christmas & birthday presents.
What a great, busy day!! Looking forward to the weekend.
Tell your Mom happy birthday!! I guess we may be seeing you next weekend. Will you be staying through Sunday?? Jim is preaching, so you may or may not want to stay!! Ha!! If you don't, I won't tell him!
No, I've seen them 4 times and the show is always the same, just gets a little bigger each year. Now it's just huge. I had hoped they would change it up some after their last album came out, but they didn't.
did u catch there 90% off sale on fall stuff? it was like right before thanksgiving...that's basically free! anyways, yes..i love that place and there stuff is cheap. i'd love to hang out..definitely up for that!
Well thanks! I wouldn't say I'm smart for finishing in 3 1/2 years...now that I look back, I wonder what all my rushing was for....maybe it would have been smarter to take my time! lol...but things seem to be working out for the best so far, so I know everything will work out in God's time! :)
Glad you all are coming tomorrow! Please do not worry about bringing anything. I do not want to put more on you since you were out of town this weekend.
I was just looking at the pregnancy ticker and thinking how cool it is that you're going to be able to feel the baby moving soon! I know it'd be cool if yall waited and were surprised to find out its gender, but I really hope you find out in January and let me know, b/c I'm incredibly anxious!
Are you and Ryan going to be at mom and dad's on Christmas morning? Or just driving over for lunch? Thanks for the Christmas ideas btw. That was helpful!
Katie and I just finished up our own homemade version of "Blue's Clues". We hid three paw prints (that I made on the computer) around the house and tried to figure out what those three clues were trying to tell us. They were 1)blanket 2)pillow 3)pajamas. My very smart daughter put all her clues together in her "handy dandy notebook" and figured out that all together it meant it was time to get ready for bed. :) Fun mommy times!
What a day! With the cool fronts that have moved in and the wind blowing around, everyone in our house has been suffereing from allergies. Of course that's not fun, but to top it off we noticed a rash on Katie yesterday that looked even worse by this morning, so we took her into the doctor.
Luckily, the doctor said it was nothing serious or out of the ordinary, just a little virus that has to run its course. The pediatrician said that normally once the rash part shows up, the worst of it's over, so she should be good to go. We had ears, eyes, mouth and nose checked out while we were there, too and the doc said she could tell Katie is definitely suffering from allergies, but nothing worse.
Whew! If we can all get over the sneezing and coughing, then Thanksgiving will be super wonderful!! :)
awe, poor lil Katie!!! Well I'm glad she is okay and that it's just allergies, but blah...allergies stink too. My main thing that has been bothering me lately is my eyes!!! Whatever is in the air is really bothering them, making them itch, and sting!
thanks:) Dan and I got a chuckle on Wednesday when Michael announced that Ryan was home with "sick" kids. We both heard "six." Dan whispered to me, "Where have they been hiding the other kids?" :)
