Actually, Jady's is tomorrow, which will be today by the time I hit "comment." Same day as someone else's we all know and love. And I would say that there's about 10 - 12 years difference.
Hey cuzin - thanks for my sweet message on my blog. Hope y'all are doing well! what's the verdict for y'all and Thanksgiving? We have plans to discuss...
yah its just i don't have time to stid and learn the vocab and i'm having a really hard time with translating sentences because of that i love the class though
Hey Matt, I was wondering if there was a way I could get your ppt (or better, your paper) on Pascal's Wager. I'm teaching an evidences class and your presentation on the topic revived my interest in looking back into the usefulness of the argument.
Well, just as I'd decided to move to NY with mom and dad I got an offer which I plan on taking) from a company in DC, so plans have changed a bit! How's PA treating you?
If you're adding a bunch of numbers together and make a mistake, it clears only the last number you were entering. Very nice when totaling up a bunch of receipts.
The plan: - Leave Tampa @ 8:30pm Thursday night
- Spend Thursday night in Savannah, GA
- Arrive in Pittsburgh @ 8:00pm Friday night
- Move into apartment Saturday morning
The reality: - Left Tampa @ 8:30pm Thursday night
- Drove through parts of tropical storm Fay (not bad, though)
- Spent Thursday night in Savannah, GA
- Busted Altima's radiator north of Columbia, SC @ noon on Friday
- Towed Altima back to Columbia to AAA repair shop
- Waited 4-5 hours for car to be repaired
- Learned that the wrong radiator had been sent and that it was too late to get the right one that day
- Spent Friday night in Columbia
- Learned Saturday morning that, even with a new radiator, our engine was the actual problem and would bust the radiator again
- Decided to leave Altima in Columbia & found local Christians who could keep the car for us and find a buyer
- Repacked all of our luggage into the Camry (a tight fit!) and left the Altima key with AAA to give to the tow truck company
- Started to leave Columbia but had to go back because AAA had given the tow truck driver the wrong key
- Left Columbia around 1:00pm
- Arrived at our apartment in Pittsburgh @ 10:00pm Saturday
Obviously, this wasn't how we planned our weekend, but Katie and I are thankful that things still worked out as well as they did. We arrived safely, the apartment leasing office agreed to release our apartment keys to Kyle, and he and the other Christians here moved most of our belongings into our apartment before we arrived. Having contacts with Christians all over the country allowed us to find someone in Columbia who graciously agreed to take care of our sickly car for us. We've been blessed, and we're here.
You have a job now? GREAT! What is it? *sigh* I really wish MIcah and I could have helped y'all move. Maybe my good luck is just what you needed! (Jk... I seem to have rotten "luck" with cars...just like you!) ;)
Happy Birthday, I am sure you grow tired of the over used expression, "I remember when you were born," but I do remember. Best wishes on your new life. It sounds exciting.
Okay, I think I just wished you Happy Birthday on your Mom's blog...Hmmm...Think I'll run back over there and erase it...Oh, BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Wish I could come celebrate by playing about 4 hours of Boggle with you!
SOOOOOO sorry about the car!! Life can 'shore' throw you some curves, huh? Isn't it an incredible blessing to be part of God's family? I call things like what you experienced "fringe benefits" of being a Christian...getting help from a "stranger" who is your brother...
Wow, cuz...I'm sorry you had such a rough trip. But, like you said, I'm so glad you had brothers and sisters watching out for you on the road. We are all so blessed! Glad your mom & dad got to be with you this past weekend, too:)
so I'm taking greek @ auburn this term, and I remember you taking greek while we were in suite 8 @ FC. that being said, any pointers for success, because what I am doing thusfar isn't working.
Baaaaugh! I wish I had known y'all were stuck in Cola-- my parents live 15 minutes outside of the city and they could have taken care of you! :( I'm glad y'all made it safely, though.
Hooray Pittsburgh! Tim and I will be up there this Thanksgiving. Will yinz guys? Please tell me you've heard "yinz" since you've been up thar. This is Alison K by the way!
You don't close stuff just be clicking the X. To really close it, go up to the top bar and close it there. Confusing at first, but handy once you get used to it.
There's my wealth of wisdom, since I've had mine for all of 2 months.
Apple wants people to switch and to make it easy, so they've got tons of video tutorials to help you learn your way around. Here's a good place to start.
Hey Matt, this is Jared. I was wondering if you still had the lyrics to "Goel" from Ruth? The song you'd crafted from the christmas tune, "Noel"? I was fondly remembering our Hebrew experiences and thought about that.
I had five wisdom teeth pulled this morning. Naturally, I wasn't just dying to talk for most of the day, so I communicated quite a bit through text messages. Here are some conversational highlights from yesterday and today:
- "Man, tomorrow is going to be like pulling teeth, isn't it?" (my dad)
- "No kidding. Wake me when it's over!" (me)
- "Are you dead?" (co-worker, today)
- "Yes, I was actually just talking to some of your ancestors." (me)
- "Oh...were any of them black? That would explain a lot."
- "As of today, I am officially less talionis." (me)
- "Sounds like you just experienced molar eclipse." (Jady)
- "Are you still a little loopy?" (my dad)
- "Of course not. The zebras just left half an hour ago. Thanks."
When I had mine removed, Chad (my ride back to the apartment) and I were sitting in the office waiting for them to give me the okay to leave. They gave me a little dish/pan (much like the one in this picutre) that I think was in case I got sick. Of course, if I had to puke, that little thing wouldn't have helped much at all. Instead, we did some prop comedy with it. The nitrous made it really stinkin' funny.
Ha, ha, although I'm sure it was really no fun. I still have all my wisdom teeth---my dentist told me my mouth was big enough; I'm sure he didn't mean anything else by that ;>)
