P.s. does anyone know of any congregations looking for a preacher in the united states. A friend of mine has been looking for a preaching position since May and they are getting a little discouraged. Please Pray for them, that a door will open for them (they also have a baby on the way, so it is a very worrisome time for them). THANKS!
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU!!! I know you want to eat at Freebirds... And Blue Baker? And Cotton Patch? Or Kolache Rolf's? Or Must Be Heaven? hmm... that's my guesses! I'm going to try and call you on one of my breaks tomorrow! Love you!
Hi Vanessa! What is the name of the marriage class series that you are studying and the author. I had someone ask not long ago about a series like that. Also where did you order it from? Looking forward to seeing you again!
are you...
a headphone listener who ignores everyone?
a movie watcher?
a book reader?
a chatter box?
a people watcher?
a napper?
a do nothing and sit there and look bored person?
Usually I say hello to whoever is next to me and start to read whatever book I have. Tonight I sat next to a chatter box. He was asking me question after question. This was an older man(I could tell you all about his family and where all his kids live and how many kids they have..) He told me his did mission work in Africa for 12 years while his kids where young. I started to ask him a few questions about his beliefs. To make a long story short he told me some wayyyy bizarre beliefs about hebrew marriage, heaven and Isreal today and all this stuff that confused the daylights outa me. BUT we did talk about baptism. I soooo wished my bible was in my bag and not my big bag that was checked because he was not accurate on some of his scripture references, but I could not prove it. I was sooo frustrated, but the whole while I was talking to this man I was praying for patience... needless to say he does not think that baptism is for the remission of sins and that we dont need to do that. Even though our talk was an "agree to disagree"I was proud of myself for having the nerve to talk to someone about baptism without my bible in front of me... which I have never done before.
so just remember the places we are consumed with our usual routine, we can not just let our light shine, but teach the truth. why do people believe that baptism is just an outward sign? He asked me what i thought about a dying man not being able to be baptized due to medicinal purposes- I told him that I am not the judge that God is, but if it were me I would be glad to die knowing that all my sins are forgiven. He stared at me and said that God is a great judge and that we have hope in him... this statement confused me... humm... ahh well he knows where I worship here in VA and if he has questions that he is welcome to join us.

Congratulations on the talk! It sounds like you handled yourself well. I'm sort of a headpone, chatter box with occasional movie watching mingled with people observing while sitting looking bored kinda guy. haha :)
I am a want-to-be napper who always sits by a chatter box. :·) I am proud of you. You let your light shine. You left the fellow with some things to think about. That is fine. Mark always manages to have a 'spriitual' conversation on his airplane trips.
I am a headphone and book reading person sans child and a 3 year old entertainer with my child! I flew so much before I was married for work and it seemed like I was constantly sitting next to a chatterbox and that was when I was ALWAYS a napper...it was frustrating sometimes, but enlightening others! Glad you were able to have the conversation you did - very impressive.
What a great opportunity!! He may do more research on those verses now that someone has talked with him about it! That would be amazing if he did! You have such great faith! I can't wait to see you in 10 days!! :)
I felt so bad for the ones that knew they may go home even though they lost so much weight. They did not get a chance to be happy/proud of their accomplishment. I felt bad for them.
SO there i was at the airport reading the 4th book of twilight for the second time at my layover. (it was a long one, so there no one was nex to me or around me). I look up and i see a bird eating crumbs. I look back t my book then quickly look back over, WHAT? a bird? in the airport? long enough for me to be confused he has eatin all the crumbs and decides he doesnt like me and trs to fly out the window. BAM! BAM again. What is this bird thinking. I was dying laughing!!!!!!!!! it came back again and was flying in the walk aisle over peoples heads. i think i was the only one to notice. HILLARIOUS! it made my day.
hearing the funny story from you added some fun to my day but seeing you last night and then again this morning made my day. i'm about to come get you and hang out more ~ yip~peee!!!
That is funny, that is nothing like what I was hearing in the message. Glad I read this...I laughed out loud! Maybe now I will listen to the message again. that is something I wish I had answered the phone for!
