Today (Monday) was Andrew's birthday! We are so blessed to have this little guy in our lives. We had a great party over the weekend and he loved seeing everyone, playing with his cake and generally exhausting his mommy and daddy :-). It was wonderful and worth all the effort. Today he's got a little cold, so he got tons of love and attention and most importantly got to begin facing forward in his car seat!
Enjoy the pic's!
The FAMILY
BALOONS!(we are pretty sure he has learned this word over the weekend. He loves playing with them.)
He's getting good at opening presents. Christmas was warm up and now he rips the paper off with gusto.
The CAKE! Two round cakes, one dome cake cooked in a mixing bowl, another small dome cake, a cupcake, gumdrops, hershey kisses, and airhead taffy were lovingly and magically transformed (read: we were up past midnight) into a happy lion for our little king of the jungle.
It's definitely winter up here. We've had snow 3 times already, and Sunday it was enough to have to leave early and drive 10 to 30 miles per hour most of the way to church. It is beautiful to see the seasons God has made, but we do miss the mid-60s we usually enjoyed having Christmas in FL!
We set the tree up last weekend and Andrew loved the lights and the little bells we put on the tree. Everyday Tracy and I lift him up to the tree and let him Jingle a little bell, touch a light-bulb, and touch the fuzzy garland hanging over our window. He loves it!
Here's some pics of our little guy when he first started letting go of toys to walk, and enjoying seeing all the Christmas decor go up in the house! Enjoy!
We all had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving last week with Tracy's family in Murray. Andrew's favorite was all the loving attention, playing with his cousin Addi,(& Sammy the dog too) and the furniture perfectly stationed for walking around!
Check out the video of our little guy moving and shaking :-)
Well Andrew turned 10 months yesterday so I guess it's about time we get his 9 Month picture up here!
We took this a few days back to mark this special phase. And special it has been. He is getting more adventuresome in his walking - today he let go of a toy and took a few steps toward the armoire all of his own volition! And the other night...oh about 3:30 in the MORNING... when he woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep despite having a pacifier, a snuggly blanket, and coming into what he thinks of as "his big bed" (read: OUR bed) I just looked at him and said Andrew DAVID Shumake - Sleep! So now that his middle name has been involuntarily summoned in a moment of frustration I feel even more like a dad and even prouder that this little guy is ours to love!
he looks so grown up! (sniff, sniff) wow, it only took 10 months to get the middle name used!yikes, uh oh, on the "his big bed". I wish you the best on that.
hey guys! Missed you sooooo much last night, but really thought it was great that you took the time to send us the video message. Tell Andrew that if he is so hungry for candy that he is willing to eat the paint, that uncle Adam will be happy to fill him up.
