Trout Fishing in Texas 12-18-08 03:17pm EST
Some people spend exorbitant amounts of money on fly-fishing equipment all because of one kind of fish... the trout. The problem is, you usually find them in much colder climates than what we have here in Texas. However, many Texas fishermen don't realize that you can actually do some pretty good trout fishing nowadays, since the Texas Parks and Wildlife has started stocking them more and more around this time of year. A few years ago, I went a couple of times to Canyon Tailrace, just below the dam at Canyon Lake and ended up catching my limit. I hear they just stocked 1,950 of them in downtown Belton today, so guess where I'm headed as soon as I get off work.

I recommend using small aberdeen hooks with Fluorescent Red Berkley Power Bait 3" Trout Worms. These come in long segmented worms that you should break off into 1/2 to 3/4 inch pieces. If you want to know when and where they will be stocking, go here.
anneAs a child, I thought my Daddy was quite the sportsman because he knew how to fly-fish for trout in Colorado. It's fun to watch! Good luck.
ellwoodwdactually with the right type of lure you can fly fish for any thing. my uncle has caught both bass and catfish fly fishing.
slimwe are leaving on the 24th.
faith1980i fell in love with fly fishing while watching "a river runs through it". you?

they're contagious. be careful. don't comment on this post unless you're a gold member, a red raider fan, and you need a haircut.

ahopeI feel singled out!
bliss117Can I comment if I'm 2 out of 3?
crazyttuguyYou know, if you really wanted me to comment on a post, all you had to do was ask.
crazyttuguy... or say something worth commenting on. :)
mb1020so, i am commenting even though I don't meet any of those qualifications. I did it for the free t-shirt, and the opportunity to be uber lame.
ahopeYou should save up or charge away to go with me to England end of January. You could site see all day while Im at work! Tickets are about $600 out of Houston for when im going.... just a thought!
mb1020so I could say "man I feel drained"! Hooray!
slimyeah, that is true. I saw him at church last week. We are going to be in Houston for a few days in case you or your clan head up that way.

How Bout Them Longhorns? 11-28-08 11:12am EST
Horns    49
Faggies   9

All-Time Record

Horns
Faggies

It was another awesome Thanksgiving as usual. Spending time with family, lots of food and desserts, playing 4-on-4 Halo with networked consoles, flag football, and a little jam session with a couple of guitars and a lapsteel. Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was as good as mine! :-)
ahopeI wouldnt be gloating over that game too much. Were you listening to the announcers.... it was like foot race with a quadraplegic. Pretty much all red shirt freshman out there, people playing positions they never play due to injuries, etc. And here's a point for discussion... how biased refs are in regards to looking the other way for ranked teams vs unranked team. For example, McCoy's knee was down before the ball passed the plane, ref called it a touchdown. ON the flipside, A&M was called for virtually every known possible penalty you can fathom... which I dont mind, if the game is called fairly. I'm not making excuses for this game in particular, Ive noticed this in other games. The higher ranked team just about always have the refs on their sides. Kind of like how people say the rich keep getting richer....
faith1980from where i was sitting (middle of the tu alumni section, 50 yd line) the ol tu fans did not share your enthusiasm for how their beloved horns played. it was either griping about how much their coach makes for them playing like they did or looking forward to the holiday bowl this year. BUT i guess after losing to tech and the fear of not getting enough BCS points after barely beating OU... you gotta take what you can get huh?
ethospathoslogosi hear mcgee has no shot at making it in the nfl next year, so he's trying out for a groundskeeper position with UT. he knows the turf pretty well, since his face has been down in it so many times. did you see him get sacked and then throw a litte hissy fit? a faggie indeed!
ahopeTouchee! Your own ponyboy wiped out on that turf more than once himself. LIke I said... royal stadium needs some aggie turf management. And to set the record straight, Sherman, you know the man that coached Favre to superbowl wins, believes McGee is cut out for NFL action.
ethospathoslogoscome on. he's not nearly good enough for the nfl. i think his eyebrows are probably so bushy, they affect his vision.
ahopeHe's just as good as McCoy if not better. One of the top Texas high school football recruits. Led the state in passing, switched to an option running offense with A&M. He has never had an offensive line to give him time to throw or receivers with sticky fingers to catch his uncatchable passes to make him look good like mccoy.
faith1980whether he goes on to the nfl or not, he's getting his masters in finance, meaning he should have no problem having a nice career being an intelligent, well-read individual. there are others (i.e. vince young) that had to go to pros because they wouldnt be able to find a job with their test scores and their dialect alone!!
smokewagonThanksgiving in the desert. We had the usual things: Some sand, camels and Bedouins out side the wire, and Kuwaiti EOD setting off a blast or two. A typical day here. The 05's and above did serve us some decent turkey dinner. One of the better meals I've had since I've been here. Just took 8 months to get it. ;) See you soon!
ellwoodwdi'm just glad Tech screwed someone over this year :)
ethospathoslogosyeah... like the ross perot of ncaa football. thanks alot.
sarahfay:( saaad post. you hungry yet?
sarahfayonly 3 days?! well congratulations for making it that long. im sure it's a pretty terrible feeling. how about your dad? has he given up yet?

Apologetics DVD's 11-18-08 10:24pm EST
If you're interested in apologetics, you should really add these to your video library.

Also, if you're interested in a Christian acappella internet radio station and you are an iTunes user, under the Library section go to Radio, then under Religious look for Acappella. If you don't use iTunes, you can also go here and find another way to listen.

heidixI loooove Planet Earth.
hooseI've seen Expelled and The Exodus Revealed. Both are excellent.
caseymp3I've never seen the Lee Strobel movies. I just ordered them both on amazon for a total of 15... case for Christ and the case for a Creator.
sneakgeekfortunately, no. i saved my money and took the beating from the comfort of my own home.
