This is a house in Pittsburg, PA that is covered in 210,000 lights, computer animated, and synched to music. My Christmas wish: to one day have a house like this.
It has been over a month since my last post, which, while important, did not provide much information on the current goings-on in my life. Therefore, I provide below a synopsis of various stuff.
1. The Job: Definitely getting better in that I finally feel like I'm getting a handle on it. I think it will still take a few more months to feel like I have a real grasp of things, though. That being said, there are still days when I'm glad the windows in my office are sealed shut, else I might be overly tempted to jump.
2. The Holidays: Spent a wonderful Thanksgiving with Kristyn and her family. Other than the turkey, everyone had a great time. I leave on December 23 to spend the Christmas holidays in Texas with the family, returning to Georgia around January 2. And I already know what the best Christmas present I'm going to get is: Kristyn is also making the trip to Texas.
3. The Car: I recently lost my mind and bought a 2009 Honda Pilot. It's a great car and I'm enjoying it, although I decided to keep my 2002 CRV to drive back-and-forth to work (I mean, hey, it only has 176,500 miles on it). I went with Bali Blue Pearl for the color on the Pilot (see below). Job I hope to have one day: coming up with the names of colors for cars.
4. The Team: Texas suffered their only defeat of the regular season to Texas Tech, the fourth game in a grueling stretch that included four top-10 teams. Now we wait to see what bowl game we're in. I won't comment on how the two teams playing for the Big 12 championship were both defeated by the Horns. Speaking of the Big 12 championship: Go Mizzou.
Some tough games won, but some tough ones left to win. The Horns will be making their third appearance on College Gameday in four weeks when they play texas tech in Lubbock. This one might be the most difficult to date. Hook 'em.
I just got back from voting. It only took me 15 minutes. The guy I was standing in line with decided that if everyone in Brooks showed up at the same time to vote it shouldn't take longer than two hours...Which, we also had 8 voting stations.
You know if you have your "I voted" sticker you get free coffee at Starbucks today?
The sofa is a pretty good place to sleep, since you can watch TV while you're going to sleep.
I hope the next few days are quiet for you, too. You need it. I'm hoping Friday will be that way for me.
So sorry about the allergies and your poor tummy. Since gas is down, we should get a group to meet mid-way in the ATL to do some brotherly/sisterly group activities.
welcome home from the journey to the Motherland. You are right, she is the best girl ever. But you are totally pulling the wool over her eyes if you didn't yell like a banshee during that game. I've seen it. I know.
It was so good to see you, if only for a weekend. It was great getting to meet Kristyn, Susan, and Kathryn. Hope we can get out to see all of you in November.
The Redneck Gourmet, one of my favorite eating establishments where I live in Newnan, made the front page of CNN.com in a story about small businesses and the current economy. You can read about it here. If you get a chance, stop by and grab a burger or the chicken strips.
You have to be kidding... I LOVE the Redneck Gourmet! Their fries are the best. And, I live in Newnan as well! But I don't know you. My name is Brenda. I know your sister from camp. I also have family living in Houston; in fact, that is where I grew up. My family goes to Alief CofC, just in case you were wondering. Okay. I'm guessing that is MORE than enough info for someone who doesn't even know me and probably couldn't care less!
Congrats of the Longhorn win ... Betsy and I listened to it on the radio yesterday since we had to go to Katy for an invitational marching contest in which our band participated.
