Well, the voting phase is over. Thanks so much to those of you who went and voted! For those of you who didn't, you are the reason we are in second place. OH, just kidding!! =-) We have started the judging phase, and the final results will be given on or around December 3rd. I will let you know!!
Not much else going on around here. Tim returned a couple of weeks ago from his trip to China. He had an amazing time! We are glad he is back and that we are back into a normal schedule, whatever that is. I hope you all have a great week!! |

Funny how that little word holds so much value to people today. "Change has come to America," said Barack Hussein Obama last night at his acceptance speech. It's been his entire platform. I'm sick of hearing it, frankly.
As a person who loves change and gets bored easily, I can understand how this is appealing to many. However, I think the question that hasn't been asked is, "How are we going to change?" As I watched the Obama supporters with tears of joy run down their checks, I wondered if they had any idea how Barack plans to change this country. It may not be for the better. Is he going to pull our troops and destroy all the progress we've made? Is he going to pull conservative radio so we no longer have an equal voice? Is he going to prevent us from bearing arms? We already KNOW he's a socialist. Amazingly, as I was listening to the election coverage this morning, Rick, from the Rick and Bubba radio program, told of the number of conservative Christians who KNEW that Obama is the most liberal senator this country has seen, but believe he will be more conservative in the White House. WHAT?!?! What do they base that on?
Now, I'm not a McCain supporter (although I love Sarah Palin, and hope she can come back in four years), but I at least feel like McCain loves this country and is truly American. I have never felt that way about Barack. I realize that the president doesn't have all power, but the fact that he won more than 50% of the voters means that a large number of people out there will think that his policies are good. That gives him plenty of power.
I truly pray that the Lord will not allow him to do irreversible damage to this country. May He keep us and bless us, regardless of what the future holds. May the change that has come to this country be only for the better.
(Oh, and don't forget to vote for "Click It" at www.eimakeover.com. Thanks!) |

OK -- This is a shameless effort to solicit your help with something. For some of you, this is just a reminder. =-) My son's first grade teacher, Mr. Smith, has entered his class in a video competition. Today, Mr. Smith found out that we made the top five!!! The winner of this contest will win $25,000 in technology upgrades for their classroom. Thirty percent of the final score is based on the number of votes their class receives.
So, here is what I want from you...
1. Go to www.eimakeover.com.
2. You will need to register. It's not a big deal to do so, but you will fill out a form, they will email you a confirmation, and you will have to confirm in order to login.
3. Once you have registered, you are looking for the video called "Click It." They are in the K-5 category (obviously). Either watch or don't watch the video (although it is really cute), but vote for them at the top right of the page. If you notice the one kid singing obnoxiously loud, you are hearing Douglas. =-)
Here is a link directly to the video:

Thanks so much for helping us out with this!!! We are really excited about it. I got to help make the video... collect things for the costumes, guitars, hats, etc. My hands are even in the video "re-arranging" the words. Fun! I hope you enjoy it and whether or not you watch it, PLEASE VOTE!!! Thanks!
Happy Halloween!

I AM READY FOR MY HUSBAND TO COME HOME!!!!!!!!!! It's great that he is overseas and helping to spread the good news about Christ, but I am really ready for him to be with us again. Garrett is getting tougher and tougher, clingier and clingier. My brother is here helping me out (THANK YOU, Jonathan!!!), and at lunch today when Garrett asked for his cup and Jonathan slid it to him, Gare said, "NO! Mama do it!" and threw a fit. *sigh* I think he thinks that Tim has abandoned him and is worried that I'm going to leave, too. Which, in the mind of a two-and-a-half year old, is understandable, but it is very, very tiring.
Lots of good things happening overseas with Tim and the gang. I'll update you on that when he's home, and I'm not so worried about what I can and can't say. Jonathan preached a WONDERFUL sermon for us on Sunday night. It's been a long time since I've heard him speak. The congregation was very receptive to him. It was a good night. =-)
I hope you all have a great Halloween!! Douglas is going as Raphael (a teenage mutant ninja turtle), Todd as Thomas the tank engine, and Garrett as James (from the Thomas series). They are very cute in their costumes. I'll have to get J to take pictures of them (my camera is in China!), and maybe I'll be able to post them. Have a great week, everyone!
