Special Thanks 11-14-08 08:14am CST
A Special Thanks to Seth Humphrey for helping Jana and I fix our home computer which was almost killed by a virus. We had to back everything up and then erase and reinstall everything, it is now running really well.

Continue to add suggestions to the blog below as well.

Christmas Gifts and Shopping 11-13-08 10:42am CST
I keep hearing and reading that people are almost done with their Christmas shopping, which has started to make me feel really behind. I have bought one cool but cheap book for my neice and we know what we are gettting for my nephew. Other than that we haven't even started.

What are you asking for this christmas?
What are you getting for you Mom and Dad? These can be challenging.

I am putting all my birthday money from a few weeks ago in a jar and I plan on doing to same with christmas money and Jana and I are going to save and get a new computer some time early next year. We want an iMac and I want to wait for an upgrade since it has been a while.

Any help on ideas of what you are getting people or what you want or what would be a good idea for people would be much appreciated!

**I may delete some of your posts or portions of them to hide

spimmanMy Cousin Deborah wrote, "if u know a person's fave sports team and know they are REALLY into them, anything with the team logo on it is somehing they will love. My list includes the 'words' game for my DS, a Bible cover, scarves (I use them more now that I have short hair!), and a wind proof umbrella."

I'm going to delete and note another part of her comment that I may use.
butterflyhomerachelMatt, what is your last name? Is the Jana person you are referring to the Jana Gurtler I know? I'm not sure. If so, I know her brother and my brother knows her. I've only met her once or twice. Sorry if I'm confusing her with someone else. I like to try and puzzle everyone out on here. Anyways...good luck at Walmart and CVS. Those websites rock! Hope they help!
melissakayeI'm almost done with my shopping, but it was by accident. I've been buying stuff all year long when it's on sale/clearance. I decided to pull everything out of the closet the other day to remind myself of what I had already bought & was excited to see that I was nearly finished. Parent's gifts are always the last & most difficult for me. Good luck with all of your shopping!
bravedaveWhile I'm not against receiving them, I think gift cards are kinda ridiculous. Why not just give cash? I've never understood that. I haven't thought much about Xmas--I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. We'll have two "Bells" in the kitchen. Woohoo! Xmas in November!
mrsnerdleyWe have bought only one thing.
coulterI want a sheepskin leather bible $125
hillabillyHope you get over that "morning" sickness real soon so you'll feel more like shopping. :)
miss_cleosupport is few and far between, thanks matt
jenmurffWe bought Bill and Elaine outdoor furniture for christmas. Sam's had a great deal a few months back so Lindy and Mandy snatched it. But SHHHH Surely since they don't have internet or computer they won't find out! :)
bigdeborahjamie wants a parallel Bible but I can't find the 4 versions he wants together.
billiameveryone needs a good car emergency kit and an external hard drive of at least 250GB
mattandkylesmomIt looks like you want money! It will be great for us all to have the iMac and we can iChat together. Have fun in Florida. What a coincidence that "family" will be there on the same day!
dirkFortunately, I don't do much of the Christmas shopping, but I do have to get a couple of things.... which I'm not sure yet.

Funny Weekend 11-10-08 09:19am CST
Jana and I had a fun and funny weekend. It started off with me not feeling that great, of which I still don't. My head feels sorta dizzy like my balance isn't quite right and it makes me feel sick at my stomcach if I do too much. It can be quite dossorianting. Not so funny.

Anyhow, we went to Birmingham for the weekend because we hadn't seen our nephew since he was a baby and he is laughing now...really funny. Also, my niece is hilarious and full of energy. We had a good time.

The really funny and incorrect story is what happened in Auburn while we were gone. In Auburn this weekend the Davis family had their anual Homecoming Pancake Breakfast and there was a football game. With all the babies being born and expected I guess baby fever is on everyones minds. Evidently somebody said that we went to Birmingham to tell Jana's family we were expecting (which is NOT true) and by the time we got back to church last night Jana was swarmed my half the ladies at church and I even got asked 4 or 5 times.

The moral of the story is, we are NOT expecting a baby and when that time does come, and I'm sure one day it will, we'll let everyone know. I'm still slightly scared and slightly laughing about how last night went down after services...but it was something to laugh about.
rica5219haha. Bless ur heart! I know when you and Jana do decide to have kids that y'all are going to be great parents! :)
rainouti got the last piece of Aunt Patsy's pie -- whew, that was close, I almost missed it!
rainoutdelicious -- i ate it straight out of the pan -- sorry to rub it in! :)
melissakayeCongratulations!!!...just kidding! :) Hope you're feeling better soon...you may have morning sickness! :)
billiamdude...i know how you feel, and it IS hilarious. People have stopped asking...they just assume Julie's pregnant now (public service announcement: she's not).
maucknottruly bizarre...how does something like that get started? More frightening to me than funny...glad you can laugh about it though. Can't wait to see a little Matt/Jana critter in the near future (whenever that might be).
sethmauldinallergies, 7months enjoyment factor, and resale
cmvermonteveryone's havin babies!
mattandkylesmomMelissa's comment is funny and I AGREE with Tony's--
mattandkylesmomOh--I also had a piece of Aunt Patsy's pie and I did think of you.
adampuali think it's a little of both. i think most of the virus writers know more about writing Windows stuff.
carolattheriverYou sound just like Mike. He hates onions. I usually leave them out, but I thought he wouldn't notice...:/ I was wrong.
pharmgirlEven I heard about this in my sequestered state! Brad asked me and I said, we just saw them at the hospital and Jana very clearly said they WERE NOT pregnant! So, I did my part...Hope it is as much fun as the real announcement! ha

For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Cor. 4

Haloween and Election Day 11-03-08 12:23pm CST
Halloween was fun. I was a pirate and Jana was a mouse (actually she was a character from a book). We had a good time thatnks to the Fowler families willingness to host a great party. If you missed it, you missed a good time!

Election day is tomorrow. I plan on voting 1st thing in the morning and then not paying attention until 9 or 10 PM and if it isn't decided by then I'll see it when I wake up.

I have to go to Jacksonville, FL for work Wednesday night/Thursday. I need to locate a church in Jacksonville. It should be a quick trip...I hate being away though!

What's on your mind?
rica5219Jacksonville, FL or AL?
coulterI'm thinking it is a guaranteed Wed. morning result: We are going to court.
emmarooWe're in J'ville, AL if you're coming our way. If not, I can't help.
spimmanFlorida
trolleemThanks so much for the explanation. I've found that those discussions are particularly divisive in this forum and therefore keep a distance from them. Thanks!
coulteryes & I kinda want it to be. it will continue to raise doubts about our two party system in the general public
billiami'm working too much.
