Thoughts... 11-19-08 10:12am EST
Hey ALL...so the wedding plans have been coming along WONDERFULLY... except that the wedding dress shop ladies said "THE DRESS" won't be coming in until early Jan..when before it was mid Dec..so I'm a little nervous about that.

But I've got my wedding shoes..when it does finally come in!! YIPPEE!!

So..I'm trying to run through my list of "to do's" for this BIG event (that is inching closer and closer..yippee!)..and I was wondering..what was something that you didn't think about until "oh dear! I forgot about that" came to your mind?! Ladies? What was something that you would recommend that I think about now that I probably would have overlooked????

I was looking at my 'list' and the only thing I have left is finding someone to cut the wedding cake (my cake lady isn't going to do it)...help!? Ideas?

In other news...man I miss Ross. He is out of town..and it just makes me so sad..and you can DEFINITELY tell a difference in my mood! Poor kids..they get the brunt of it too! oh well ;-)
meganRingbearer pillows. Totally forgot until like 2-3 weeks before! Ordered them real quick off of Ebay.
loloMy mom pretty much planned it all and she's good at that stuff. : )
jekeshayMake lists of EVERYTHING you need that day and who is bringing it that way you don't forget stuff! I didn't really forget anything!
lydiasmotherMy dress did not come in till a week before, but I was ok with that! I live close and I can cut cake. Just a thought!
ktayAlex forgot the rings the day of his and Emily's wedding. :) You might want to give the rings to someone other than the groom.
sunshinelcMaybe have a friend make an emergency kit and have her bring it early before the wedding. You know I'm not married BUT I've been in ALOT of weddings!

This might be a little much but here are some ideas:
Sewing Kit, including safety pins and small scissors
Clear nail polish (helpful for stocking runs)
Nail file
Nail polish in the bride's shade
Makeup (you'll probably have this there anyway!)
Straws (for drinking without messing up lipstick
Extra stockings
Hairspray
Brush and comb
Bobbypins and hair elastics
Hairdryer
Static-cling spray
Tissues
Handkerchiefs
Lint brush
Earring backs
Iron
Baby powder (also useful for getting out last-minute spills on a white dress)
Eye-drops (look for redness reducing)
Contact lens solution
Acid relief
Smelling salts
Antacid
Mints
Tampons and pads
Headache medicine (bring two different kinds in case one of the bridal party is allergic)
Band-Aids
....the list could go on.
sunshinelcOH sorry I didn't realize that would be SO long. Hope you don't mind.
sunshinelcMaybe snacks or if it's an evening wedding you might get someone to bring lunch to yall while you are getting ready.
spike427make sure you have a list of all the photos you want taken. we didn't do that and ended up without photos of us and my family. :( i have photos with me and my family but none with aaron and my family together!
krisPretty much let my step mom and aunt go to the planning with mine. The only (AND MAJOR) thing forgotten, was a videographer. Fortunately, we have a great friend who did a beautiful job! I'm sure you'll think of everything!
meganThere ya go!
staciJust ask someone to cut the cake! There are plenty of women we know who like to have something to keep them busy and would love to help. If you don't ask, I'll find someone for you! :) Just a friendly threat from your wedding planner.
charliesangeldon't forget to eat. have someone pack a lunch for you guys so you can eat when you leave.

A Long Long Time Ago... 11-16-08 09:53pm EST
This is probably the coolest thing I have ever seen...oh wait..it is:

A Long Long Time Ago

jenmurffThank you!! It was nice to meet you - wish we could've spent more time together.
loloThat...was...AWESOME!!!
cowgirlOh my I am laughing so hard!!!
kittyhawkDad & I thought it was super cool. I think he should put out a single with that or get on Jay Leno or something. He's fab!! YOU WERE AMAZING as Cinderella! The pics were absolutely precious & I can just see the "awe" in those little girl's eyes. You should post the pics here too for those not on facebook. Simply Darling!!!!
meganDid you dump it at Lowe's? There's a Salvation Army trailer there...I think that may be the closest place for us unless you found something different?
meganI've done the same thing myself too! When I moved out of my apt in Cypress Run my mom and I made that drive with 5 trash bags of junk! Good for you.
blesuWow. I'm impressed with that guy! He must not have a REAL job. He's got too much time on his hands. ha
sweetteaIt's probably really nerdy of me to know this - but that guy did not write nor perform that song. He simply lip-synced it and edited it together. Which is still impressive, but another group of guys actually wrote and performed the song.
elizabethbWow! That was really cool!!
sunshinelcOK! That was amazing!
browngirl22LOVED that video! That was amazing!
spike427tonight was fun! thanks! :)
texasgroovychicTHAT RIGHT THERE IS BRILLIANT!!!!

FRIDAY!!! 11-14-08 11:53am EST
Okay so today has been a GREAT day so far!!!

* Got gas this morning for $1.89...love it!

* FINALLY got all my passport stuff taken care of!! Now just wait 4-6 weeks for it to come in

* Went to Jamba Juice for a lunch snack smoothie..and found the first bought Christmas present of the season! ..it's for Ross!

* The Season of Giving feeling has come over me..and now I'm ready for Christmas!

* Question: Ross and I are going to engrave our rings..but we are stumped on whether:

A. I WRITE something TO him on his ring (and vice versa)

OR

B. I WRITE something ABOUT Ross on my ring (and vice versa)

help!..any ideas?

* OHHHHHHH and not only is it FRIDAY...it's a PAID Friday..love that especially! ;-)
momsterI am not the authority, but I would think your first option would be the best...you write something to him on his ring (and vice versa). Probably not a right or wrong way...just whatever you both agree upon.
kaceyatthebatMy dad engraved something to my mom on her ring. Forever Yours. SO SWEET!
vandeI think yours should say "My Beauty" and his should say "The Beast"
spike427we engraved ours with a message to the wearer from the each other. :) it's also handy to put the date! ;)
mmm jamba juice. a smoothie sounds really good!
loloI agree...I like option A...that way whenever you look at your ring, you know it's FROM HIM.
ktembryI engraved Kenny's ring. It was a surprise. My band isn't engravable. He used to tell me he "adored me" before he said he loved me. So, it became our thing. In his ring I put, "I adore you."
kittyhawkAwww....the ring engraving sounds romantic. You should def write something on HIS ring and he should write something to you on YOUR ring. He's giving you the ring so it should contain HIS words of love to you as well...and you do the same on his ring.
potatoprincessI think option A would be so romantic!
meggiesI vote for option A as well :) Love that idea by the way
sunshinelcGreat to see you this morning!
blesuJonathan's ring is engraved. It just has my name "Rebecca" inside. My ring band is to small to engrave.

Rainy Days and Mondays 11-10-08 10:55pm EST
I gotta say I LOVE days when it rains...it makes the day so calm and happy! I know what you're thinking a rainy day makes you happy? Yes!!! When I grew up in Colorado..it didn't rain a whole lot so when it did I remember it smelling so good and everything being so fresh and green!!! And after living in FL and seeing how green the trees and leaves would be ..it just made me think: Goodness God is so Good!!!! So Rainy days are a blessing from God!!!!
spike427i love rainy days!
lydiasmotherI am most creative on rainy stormy days. Come back to Fl for more of those blessings--how bout it? And rain is a good thing on your wedding day!!:)
mpettesI ♥ rainy days too. I think I could live in WA state and still not be tired of it... Well, IDK, don't quote me on that =)
bridgieaggie06I love rain too! I also like the Carpenter's too too!
loloI LOVE rainy days too...the smell of rain coming is one of my favorite parts of it all.
blesuThese are the days that I wish Jonathan could stay home with me and we could cuddle, drink coffee, and have good conversation.
kittyhawkEvery day is a blessing from God and every season of life. We've had the most awesome Fall here. This is the first year that we have had no snow. Our leaves got to play out their brillance to the very end. Its been wonderful.
lwOh I would love too! What time are you coming Friday? I figured you are coming after work right? We could go then or Saturday after the party...either one! I DO remember shopping...wow that seems like forever ago!
lwSaturday night Kathy (Brad's mom) invited us all for dinner:)
