i think i am going to take a long siesta again from pleo>>>
for one>> my computer is not letting me type caps> make commas> periods> etc and i can"t move the cursor around>> colby will fix it soon i am sure
for two>> we are about to get rid of our internet>> which i am thrilled about! we can still check things at our parent"s house and the library if need be> but i am glad to rid our home for now of such a "necessary evil"
for three> homeschooling is a lot of work>>> of course> it should be>> i am enjoying it>> but constantly find myself getting too distracted during the day
for four> i do better when i minimize my choices>> i will be thrilled that my kids will just have to play outside and with toys instead of getting on pbs nick jr etc>>> as if they won"t have their whole life to get on it>> i will still have lots of computer games they can play without the internet!!!!
i must say i will be thankful to my friends around here who keep me up to date with major occurrences in your lives and i will be checking in on all of you!!
love to all>>
give some extra love to your brethren
give some extra love to your children
extra love to your spouse
extra love to your father in heaven above all!!!
So you take a siesta just as I'm getting caught back up? I see how you are....lol :) No seriously, I understand your reasons and am happy for you Kim. Take care of you and your family as that is one of the most important things you can do.
i would love to eat at some of those austin places with you guys. how are you all doing? are you all so glad that colby is done with his Master's? we like living w/o internet....i think you will enjoy it!
Yeah, we tell them not to leave messages; just put the sheet back in the pile and we'll try it again another night. So, I'm sure you'll get another call sometime before it's over.
thank you! well, don't i feel so super special! thanks for coming to check on me! you must have sensed that i've been thinking about you and wondering how things are going with your "technology fast." ;) i'm in awe of your self-control! i have to keep myself in constant check with spending too much time on distractions! miss and love you! wish we could hschool together - don't you need a field trip to the lufkin forestry museum???! they're having a really cool animal exhibit right now!
p.s. why did all my hispanic nurses in the hospital call each other AND me AND my baby "mama????" is it just a pet name? what is it? tried to look it up on the internet...
How am I supposed to stay in touch with you and Colby if you have given up the internet??? Savannah had so much fun with Chloe! I can't believe it took 4 years to get them back together!!!
I hope you get to feeling better soon or are better right now. Miss you and once I start feeling better I will try and come see you guys. Love you and miss you.
Jonah requested a lemon cake with blueberry creme filling for his bday- how is such a food snob already??? Andy....??? That cake was VERY hard to make, but tasted pretty yummy if you ask me! LOTS of lemon zest-- argg!! ;)
He is 6 now. He is so mature and doing so much school work every day. It is taking me LITERALLY 20 minutes to teach him the concepts that I would've taken a whole week to teach my first graders!! LOVING that! His writing journal subject Wednesday last week was "MY FAMILY". I started to prompt him on what to write and he quickly interrupted to say "No, mom- I already know!" So I left to come back later to see a sweet family picture drawn and below it read:
I love my 'Adelion' for she is sweet and tendr, I love my Chloe for she is nise, I love my Daddy for he is kind, I love my Mommy for she is good." MELT MY HEART!!! ;) That will take me through the rest of this year, I think!
His first tooth is about to fall out. He has strep throat right now. He starts indoor soccer later in the Fall!! He loves to play "In the Jungle" on the piano and he is about to learn the Star Wars theme song next!!
Chloe is little mommy. So much so that tonight when Adeline hurt her eye SO badly, she DID not want Colby or me..."no, want sissy, want sissy!" Then during our Bible reading tonight before bed I tried to get her to sit in my lap: "No, sissy's lap!" Well, naturally I am not jealous and think it is a wonderful thing!
I have been missing all of you on here, but I am busier now than ever. Working full-time as a teacher before has nothing on this job! I am enjoying every minute of it, but don't let me fool you into thinking there is anything easy about it! Except getting all the hugs and kisses! How thankful I am for all the wonderful mothers here surrounding me who encourage me daily to stay home and make the most of my children's every day!
Thank you for your comments on my blog. Your kids sound wonderful! My name is Lynn Harbin and I worship with the saints at the Cedar Park congregation. Have we met?
Hey Kimberly, I just wanted to ask you how everyone in your family in East Texas are doing? I also was wondering how your friends from Houston are doing? Miss you and love you.
It was so good to see you, I wish we could have visited more. I was sewing and cut the fabrics with a rotary blade and took off the tip of my finger. Rett always tells me "never sew excited"...lesson learned. have a wonderful week.
Yes, we were just there. She goes to Southside church of Christ, so she has a huge support system. Right now I think she would appreciate the prayers. Thank you so much for asking! As soon as I know more I'll post an update.
It can be frustrating to talk with them, since their arguments just go in circles and they always fall back on their "testimony" and when their hearts were filled. We'll be in Katy and Ft. Worth areas.
Brook is having surgry. If you go to tigerrita(I don't know how to link it or I would) on my friend list you can find out everything thats going on about Brook. Tigerrita is my MIL.
Chloe just informed me late tonight that I was the "MOST MOST MOST MOST MOST prettiest mommy in this whole house." She is so sincere!
She, and she came over today and had my kids mesmerized by their silly songs and utter excitement over going through 500 early readers and getting SO excited about each of them that they remembered reading when they were little! They were so cute! And helpful. They put stickers on TONS of books. It would have taken me hours!
Have a great weekend!! I am praying for kids everywhere who are about to start school next week! Mine will start Monday Sept. 1st! Luckily we only have a few yards to travel to the classroom! ;) I've never been so excited about my students! ;)
How sweet!!! I love when Noelani will tell me I'm pretty and I haven't taken a shower or washed my face yet and my hair is in a pony tail. I think "does she really see me?!?!" Children are adorable! I LOVE the WHOLE HOUSE comment. So cute!!!
You would definintely be on tv if you were doing cartwheels at 80! Possible too, Jack Le Lang, you probably never heard of him because you are too young. He is a fitness guru.
I pointed out to Kimberly H. that you just called her an "80-year-old grandma". Go back and read it and see if you don't agree that that was the obvious inference. First, you call me your "old lady friend", then you call someone who is my age an "80-year-old grandma!" You're getting yourself in deeper and deeper, my dear! :-)
I don't feel jealous because I have been told that I am the prettiest mommy too. :) Guess we are far enough apart to not cause any problems. ;) Good luck with school!!
Colby's party was a grand time! Thank you ALL for coming and sharing with us! I HAVE to get some pictures on here. Of course ALEX PARTY MAN was there and I bet he will get his up before mine!!
Our neighbors are building on to their house. All I can think of is the flood of scorpions that are currently making their way to our house.
Our house is still a mess from getting new floors last week. But, at least I only paid $90 out of pocket for it all!
Adeline randomly says "Mommy, I love Jesus!" and "Jesus loves ME!" and that has helped remind me how true this is!! Oh...children...
I gave Jonah an "official" 1st gd. reading test (Texas Primary Reading Inventory) the other day just because I was curious and he mastered it completely so I guess that is a good way to begin home schooling this Sept!! YAY! I just went right to the final passage and it was a segment taken out of an Amelia Bedilia book, which he loves! ;) I always liked those, too! ;)
The other day Chloe got hurt and I was telling her how one day she could be a nurse and help others who get hurt and she was so perplexed and sad looking. I asked her what was wrong and she said "But, I just want to be a mommy when I grow up!" I hugged that girl a LONG time after that! I am SO thankful for that! ;)
We have a very cool owl up in our tall tree occasionally when we get home late at night. We hear it "whooo" and we run inside to get the flashlight. It turns its neck all around and then flies off within about a minute of us shining a light on it. It is HUGE and very neat!!
We had so much fun!! Thanks for having us!!! It was nice to see so many people and The Channel did great. I'm excited for Colby and you. I love reading your stories. I love your sweet children. :)
What wonderful Mommy moments to share with your kiddos! I can't wait until Ben starts talking better and putting phrases together like that! The party was rockin'!! We had a grand time with all you guys! :)
Great party! It remind me of one of the reasons I always liked Austin...lots of great Christians there. Need to visit more often like I used to when I was doing the camp thing.
Well, I guess I need to come over since you didn't get to hold him. :) I'm so excited about Marla & her parents meeting Jacob! Have you ever met her parents? They're awesome! :)
The party was fun! I thought the pot-luck portion was funny... with a younger crowd, alot of fruit and fried chicken (no cooking required), not alot of casseroles. hehhe
Friday is still good for me. I was thinking about having a little play group while the kids are here if that is okay with you. What time are you and Julie thinking?
Ashton is the early bird around here, but we are usually up by 8:30 and he usually goes down for nap at 1:00. Alayna usually goes back down around 10:30 and sleeps for a good couple of hours. I dont know for sure if we will have friends over, but we'll see. I guess it would be good if you sent them lunch that way they will know what they are getting to eat ahead of time:) Talk to you later!
Thanks! Your a great mom too! This year was a great time for us to go to the Circus both of our children are free! Robbie got a ticket for summer reading, and Kalli is to little to need a ticket! Yeah! I hope you all will get to go soon.
